Today we’d like to introduce you to Sharonda Official.
Sharonda, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I am Sharonda Official from LHHATL and I currently have an upscale salon in Smyrna with Yung Joc from LHHATL. I’ve been a celebrity hair and fashion stylist for over 10 years. I’ve worked on video and film sets. I also have an online clothing boutique www.Rivamontae.com, we’ve been online for seven years now.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Nothing in life goes smooth and if so, it’s for a period of times. A lot of things in my life have been smooth some have not been smooth. It’s one day at a time, live, breadth, be happy to pray and do the right things, it should all work out. I just believe in this generation we are in today, no one listens to no one, unless it looks good and it’s fabricated to the highest level, other than that, I find most things and people older and younger to be ignorance. It’s just different. I try to give advice but when you able to give it to the ones that will genuinely listen and take heed, that’s a great feeling especially when you’re telling them the positive truth.
We’d love to hear more about Salon Eshelon.
I am a professional hair and wardrobe stylist. I specialize in short hair cuts mostly but not limited to. I’m Co-owner of Salon Eshelon as seen on LHHATL as well as a cast member. I’m proud that I am able to say I finally made it to national TV as a dope personality. I was made for this and I’ve been told I should have been on Tv and film for years. I’ve worked on some small parts but this is the biggest platform thus far. I’m for being straight forward, stylish, dope short hairstylist with a keep it real style. What sets me apart from others is that I’m not a phony person that I keep it all the way real. “ThiswhereImatwitit” my tag line.
Do you feel like there was something about the experiences you had growing up that played an outsized role in setting you up for success later in life?
Yes, I loved clothes and playing in hair, I taught myself how to braid hair. I was a good child that went outside to play every day. A real kid lifestyle. I looked up to the older girls on my block that I couldn’t wait to get home so I can go across the street to there house to be with them. I was a loved child surrounded by friends and family. They all took great care of me. Thanks to my grandfather and mother. Just a spoiled, lol, kid from a dope kinda good hood.
