Meet Trailblazer Zakia Torres

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zakia Torres.

Zakia, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started my business in 2018 following the separation from my husband. At the time, I thought I lost everything but in reality, I gained much more than I lost. That time forced me to dig deep in my spirituality and gain knowledge on things that I was once scared of. My real estate business began to crumble which forced me to focus all of my time and energy on QuartZ & Rainbows and the blessings have been flowing ever since. QuartZ and Rainbows is named after the Quartz crystal which is the “master healer” and rainbows represent beauty after the storm. My site and store were created for “spiritual gangstas” like myself who may or may not identify with just one religion, spirituality is our focus. I’m here to let people know that you can still be spiritual and have fun. You can still talk trash with your friends (I usually use other words, lol) and you can still have a great time. My God is love, there is no judgment. Keep your intentions pure and the universe will provide. Today, I am super busy balancing my entire business, as well as being a mom of three.

Has it been a smooth road?
The road has actually been pretty smooth for me which lets me know I’m living in my purpose. People are naturally drawn to my business and it’s amazing. I most definitely struggle with time management like many other entrepreneurs and I have my good days and bad days with sales. I love my business so much and I’m constantly thinking about ways to make it better so feeling pressure to do more is something that I struggle with.

We’d love to hear more about QuartZ & Rainbows.
I’m probably most known for my “sage, crystals and trap music” tee that is pretty popular on Instagram. I have an online metaphysical shop where I sell spiritual items known to raise your vibration and help get your mind right. Everything that I sell has helped me get through one of the toughest parts of my life, I believe in each and every product. My tee is definitely popular but my brand is so much more than dope apparel. I have in-person healing sessions at my office/store known as the “Rainbow Trap House” I meet my clients in person and we talk about spirituality, business, kids anything that they struggle with and the natural healer in me takes over. Although I’m most known for sending positive vibes on Instagram and creating a dope tee, I’m most proud of helping people get out of their own way.

Finding a mentor and building a network are often cited in studies as a major factor impacting one’s success. Do you have any advice or lessons to share regarding finding a mentor or networking in general?
Having a mentor is always a plus. I’ve been helped a lot along the way by people that I admire, specifically a healer by the name of Jonathan Harris. I started as his client and I’ve learned a lot from him. I try my very best to give back as much as I can. I even have a program that allows people to use the Rainbow Traphouse for free to promote their business. Collabing with other like-minded women has worked well for me and I encourage everyone to find their “tribe.”
