Meet Victoria Baylor of Baylor Brand Consulting in Savannah

Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Baylor.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Victoria. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Looking back now it’s not much of a mystery of how I landed as a Mindset and Brand Confidence Coach. Hindsight is always 20/20. I guess I can say it just took me the long route to get here (smile). To be quite honest, I have always had a love for personal development and helping people see their own brilliance. At heart, I am a perpetual cheerleader and champion for others. In addition to that, I’m also very analytical and creative—two things that were always my greatest assets and yet my biggest struggle to accept. The analytical side of me has always been intrigued with understanding how things work on a deeper level. In my younger years that curiosity led me on a path where I ended up getting a degree in Marine Biology and working for 15 years in microbial ecology research. At the same time, as a “Creative” I started a side business making custom Gowns and clothing while I worked in research full-time. Eventually when it was time for me to transition away from my career in research I jumped full fledge into entrepreneurship. At that point, I really grappled to figure out who I was and what I was truly good.  When I couldn’t, I lost my confidence. I ended up going on a huge journey of rediscovery. Thanks to a little, or shall we say a lot of Divine Inspiration I got reconnected to Me (someone I realized I’d lost touch with for quite some time) and because of that I wanted to help other Women do the same. So, I shifted my career focus and became a Certified Mindset and Brand Confidence Coach and created a system that would help women get truly reconnected to themselves, grow their confidence and embrace their brilliance. I LOVE my work. Helping people take control of their professional lives and recreate the narrative of their stories so they can reach their professional goals is beyond fulfilling. Competence isn’t what most professional and entrepreneurial women lack, it is the belief that they are enough and have the power and potential to position themselves to experience amazing careers and opportunities.

Has it been a smooth road? 
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road. The best adventures usually aren’t (smile). It has been a journey to get where I am now but I wouldn’t change it for the world. More specifically, it has definitely been a journey in personal self-discovery and re-branding. I’ve learned that all of our lives are defined by so many unique experiences and moments that when combined together can really fuel our purpose. I have a background in research science and a creative side as a clothing designer & sewer. As I mentioned before, my love of being both analytical and creative was one I struggled with reconciling because I thought one side was better than the other when in truth the combination is part of my brilliance and my greatest assets I leverage as a Mindset and Brand Confidence Coach. My intuitive and analytical abilities make it easy for me to read an understand women’s emotional frustrations and help them find solutions. My creative side helps to keep the heavy stuff engaging and light for my clients so they enjoy the process of re-discovering themselves and building their brand. Throw in a love for personal development and seeing people become their absolute best and I’m on cloud 9 doing the work I love. Helping other women get out of the fog of confusion, lack of confidence and belief in themselves is work I’m committed to. I work daily with women helping them determine their Value and how to create a brand reputation and image that reflects it in their marketplace.

The internal struggle I think we all face is really coming to terms with who we are on a deeper level. We oftentimes, without knowing, underestimate our gifts and talents—the very gifts and talent that could be helping us make bigger steps in our career goals. I find this is a common issue amongst women and it is one I definitely work with my clients to resolve. We are more than just a job or career title. The beauty of all of us is in the unique God-given talents and gifts we possess and the combinations in which they come. My job is to help women bring all of these pieces together like a puzzle to create an amazing picture of themselves (brand). I also work with them to help fight against the mental hurdles such as limiting beliefs and lack of confidence, etc. which holds them back from fully embracing their brilliance.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Baylor Brand Consulting story. Tell us more about the business.
I’m delighted to be able to provide my services in a variety of ways. Baylor Brand Consulting is a full-service Branding (Personal & Visual) Boutique that not only provides coaching and consulting in a variety of ways (1:1 and group) but we also provide “done for you” services such as website building, content creations, social media strategy help, etc. We pride ourselves on being your branding one-stop-shop. We use a holistic, intuitive and analytical approach to help our clients hone in on their mindset challenges such as lack of confidence, limiting beliefs, low self-esteem, self-sabotage, etc. so they can get to the root of their authentic brand.  Since branding is all about creating a strong image, value, and impression in the mind of your desired clients, we work very hard to ensure that our clients are authentically reflected in every area of their branding. By limiting brand confusion, it is easier for our clients to connect with their ideal clients and gain success. So, we’re delighted to work with service-based & entrepreneurial women to help them brand from the “inside out”. Such branding helps people achieve their goals with fewer steps and multiplied effort. In summary, I help entrepreneurs and professionals get clear and inwardly connected so they can build an authentic brand to connect more effectively with others. How do you think the industry will change over the next decade? 
I see there is a greater need for Professionals and Entrepreneurs to create and promote their Personal & Visual Brands in an even greater way just due to the sheer increase and saturation of the marketplace. It is increasingly becoming more and more important to stand out in a crowded marketplace, especially if you want to be seen and selected above your competition. We all know that if you’re not standing out then you’re blending in. The average person sees around 30,000 messages per day so you can understand why being able to effectively self-market is a priority.
