Today we’d like to introduce you to William Robinson.
William, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
People call me Willy I’m originally from Paterson NJ moved to Georgia when I was five. Growing up always had a love for music an always watch my cousins record and mix music. In Middle school, I use to keep notebook full of songs but never showed anyone. In high school 9th grade we had lesson on poetry an that’s when I discovered my love for writing. I was award best poet in my class and was able to read a poem in front of the school in 11th grade my best friend Kie other known as Kiehef he was gaining a buzz throughout school because he was a crazy freestylist that always had people going crazy. We was at his house one day an I was like let me record something we literally had a cheap mic and the sound coming out the tv and recorded my track name “Million” it was a basic song but was catchy lol that was the start an from there me my boy kie formed FFN our music cooperation after this I started taking music seriously I dropped a project called “Day After Tomorrow” and had a decent success from it.
My life changed when I meant my Engineer and Friend Chris Other known as Trap m. He took my sound to a different level and I became comfortable singing. One studio session I was having a hard time writing and I played a beat and was humming the beginning “Girl I wanna show you love….” and he stop it an said take that again you came in hard asf an I laugh and started again “Girl I wanna show you love but I know we toxic take you overseas don’t worry about the mileage” I was just going through a situation with a girl I liked an everything just started flowing and this song was named “Mind Games” and it Blew up people was finally taking me serious… After this people around my city seen how great I can be and now everyone is waiting on my next project named Chubby baby.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It wasn’t always easy I dealt with financial issues not having money to record to people saying I should quit music to my parents at first not supporting through music to my own friends going behind my back and getting deals and leaving me out after I helped them so I been through alot.
