Today we’d like to introduce you to Amber Ross.
Hi Amber, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I began my journey as a wellness & health esteem coach in 2018 following the birth of my second child. After having my second baby, I knew something needed to change. I found myself finally connected with the resources to make a true lifestyle shift that would benefit me as well as my family. My business was born when I found myself in a supportive community with tools and processes that have radically changed my relationship with nutrition and exercise. I spent most of my life battling my weight, dealing with chronic pain in my body & struggling with the person I saw in the mirror. Finding this community at such a pivotal point in my life was nothing short of divine intervention and I am THRILLED to share my journey with my clients. Each day I work with people who are ready to ditch diet culture and make lasting lifestyle changes by learning to nurture their bodies properly with a holistic approach. My clients and I work together to pinpoint goals, challenges and create action plans that lead to results beyond what the scale has to offer. I have always considered myself a lifelong learner and it is an absolute joy to learn, grow and share so that others can do the same. My passion is helping the “helpers”– the people who often put themselves on the backburner to ensure others’ needs are met–to create the time to care for themselves so that they can care for others out of their abundance.
If you’re feeling stuck on the hamster wheel of diet culture and everything society tells you to be, my coaching services aim to empower you with the knowledge, tools & community to help make lasting lifestyle changes for holistic wellness.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My own wellness journey and my journey as a wellness & health-esteem coach has been far from smooth. Navigating life as a mom, a wife & a full-time employee while working to repair my relationship with food and exercise has been filled with side steps, pitfalls, and stumbles. The last four years have been tremendously humbling and incredibly empowering. I believe this part of my journey has made me a better coach because it has allowed me the empathy and understanding required to better map out action plans for my clients. As the saying goes, nothing worth having is easy and nothing easy is worth having. It may be cliché, however, in my experience, the easy road is not where true growth happens.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I have a passion for leading, creating, and participating in inclusive groups of people ready to lean into a growth mindset. I believe people deserve to feel amazing in their bodies and I understand that loving your body looks different in different seasons and stages of life. My goal with my business is to connect people with tools, resources, and plans which allow them to live their healthiest and happiest lives possible while spreading encouragement and light into the world around them. I enjoy helping folks to break the cycles & stigmas of societal norms as they pertain to health & wellness. My wellness journey has been transformative, mind, body & spirit and I love sharing that with people near and far. If you would like to get a feel for my personality before beginning your personal wellness transformation, tune into What The Fox?!® on Spotify, Apple, or wherever you listen to podcasts every Tuesday to learn more! We are always in search of new guest speakers, so if you want to share your journey, send me a DM at @whatthefoxpodcast on IG or FB.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I wasn’t one of those kids who “knew what they wanted to be” when they grew up. I did know that I enjoyed helping people. I’ve always been a huge cheerleader for friends, family, and strangers. I find true joy in seeing people’s faces light up when they achieve something they’ve worked hard for. I believe this joy is one of the things that makes coaching so fulfilling for me. Sitting down with my clients, learning about their challenges & goals, and getting to celebrate victories with them every step of the way, well, that is life-changing right there!
