Rising Stars: Meet Audrey Bell -Jenkins

Today we’d like to introduce you to Audrey Bell -Jenkins.

Hi Audrey, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Audrey Bell-Jenkin was born and raised in Gary, IN. Lived and southern California for over 14 years before moving to Phoenix, AZ in 2002. I consider myself a “human services advocate.” I’m very passionate about social services, and empowering women and girls. I believe having a mentorship at all stages of your life is a true gift.  I volunteer my time by serving as a Commissioner for the City of Phoenix Human Services Commission. Has intentionally sought out jobs that service vulnerable populations.

Real Women Revealed, LLC started out in my living room talking with my lady friends about life (i.e. marriage; children; dating; careers; economic development; goals; self-esteem; and etc.) I dawned on me that if we felt we needed a safe, authentic place to be vulnerable, then it was clear to me that this is something most women would appreciate. Being in a sisterhood space of no judgement but in a place of respect, constructive criticism, and understanding. Providing feedback out of love. RWR loves to provide a space for women so we can showcase our skills and expertise. Hence, why we host Expos, Summits, and Sisterhood Sessions.

We all face challenges but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Early on what was challenging for was: managing time; work, life, and balance. Making sure partnerships are in alignment. Once I really understood what I was being challenged with and identified it, I started working on strategies to bring more balance into my life, and understanding that saying “No” is a full sentence. I had to start learning to say no, to balance time.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
The work of Real Women Revealed, LLC is creating authentic spaces for women to thrive and be successful. We all have in our hearts and mind what we believe success looks like and we want to assist in providing that space. I’m very passionate about Workforce Development and Entrepreneurship. RWR specializes in assisting social services and small businesses with creating workforce development strategies and curriculums for their organizations. In addition, to hosting conferences, summits, expos, and other empowering events. I’m most proud that I continue to pave my lane; what I do doesn’t have to make sense to everyone because God didn’t plant my passionate seed as everyone’s passion. I will connect and network with those I am supposed to. As the saying goes “Reach One Teach One.” I believe what sets me apart from others is that I’m authentic. It’s not that I work on being authentic, I truly believe it’s my gift. I work on myself daily at being a better person, a better listener, and a better person to my community. I’m human so I will continue to be a work in progress each day. Most people that I meet tell me “You seem like family, my sister, my niece, my place I call home” That is super special to me!

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Have a great support system. Not just those people who will tell you want you want to hear, but people who will support you but still provide constructive criticism. I would suggest writing out SMART goals and truly following them.

What I think we must remember as business owners and entrepreneurs is that not everyone is going to support us in the way we may want them to, nor will they see or understand our passions as we do; this can include friends and family. That’s not throwing any “shade” it’s a fact. We can’t always think that people are SUPPOSED to support us just because of (fill in the blank of what that may be) something. Just try your hardest to be the best at what you are doing and ask for authentic help when you need it. Don’t be afraid. You either learn or win, or hopefully both.
