Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Dixon.
Hi Brittany, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I would consider myself a “Wellness Infotainer”.
My career started with meshing my two favorite things: TV and Wellness. I’ve always had a fascination for TV, movies, commercials… pretty much anything in the arts and entertainment world; plus a love for being active and healthy.
I began my entertainment career interning in my hometown of Cleveland, OH at News Channel 5 in their Investigate Department, was a red carpet interviewer during Super Bowl 2010 in Miami, FL, assisted Interscope’s HipHop Artist Roscoe Dash, and eventually landed at Tyler Perry Studios assisting the Vice President/Producer on sitcoms and dramas for national broadcast and syndication. I went on to work on other productions assisting in the coordination of numerous scripted shows in for TBS, NBC, Viacom, Starz, OWN, and A&E.
By understanding what it takes to produce and host a show, I was inspired to created my YouTube Channel around fitness with quality production.
I ran collegiate Track and Field, so working out was 2nd nature, plus it was my stress outlet from work. As a sided hustle, I would train clients before and sometimes after work for the love of travel and shoes! I became a certified Personal Trainer and a National NPC bikini competitor during these years. Eventually, I saw more potential in the world of fitness and wanted to build my own lane in the Fitness Entertainment world.
I abruptly quit my TV production job in Atlanta, and quickly moved South Beach Miami, FL in 2016, where I privately trained, taught group fitness classes and enjoyed the beach life.
I started commercial modeling, acting, building my brand as a fitness influencer.
Additionally, I produced and hosted a traveling fitness show for the Caribbean market “Finding Fit”, to bring awareness to the growing epidemic in the tropical islands.
In 2020, I returned back Atlanta to pitch and produce more unscripted and scripted content centered around wellness.
As of now, I am an actress, model, host, voiceover artist and contracted with iHeartRadio, plus, a Live On-Air Guest Fitness Expert with Home Shopping Network.
I thrive on my jet-setting lifestyle, which is highlighted on my social media to inspire others to travel and be adventurous.
Currently living in Atlanta with my dog Leo.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
As you can imagine, there were many obstacles and challenges. I made a complete transition, not just finically, but moving to a new state. I can’t and won’t name all of them, but finding housing in Miami was the biggest challenge that stands out the most from everything. It’s hard to think straight and sleep properly when your housing situation is unstable.
Keeping the dream alive was super hard, life was seriously testing me on how bad I wanted my build my own lane in wellness and entertainment.
I had my days where I wanted to give up and get a 9-5 job, nothing wrong with that, but not for me.
So I started to look at life like a video game, there will always be obstacles in your way of getting to your goal, the game wouldn’t be fun or worth it if it were easy. Each level got harder, but I got smarter and faster on how to navigate each challenge and move on to the next level to attack. I had setbacks, but I was able to start the level over, avoid mistakes and celebrate the small wins (coins) along the way!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Hope I haven’t t confused you guys yet.
Because I love TV/Film and Wellness so much, everything that touch or create will have some element of health in it, rather it be physical or mental. I’m ready to see a shift in entertainment that deals with real life situations and bring awareness that we’re all just human beings trying to survive.
Plus, be the voice and face of healthy living.
I jokingly say if Oprah, The Rock, and Jane Fonda had a baby… It would be me!
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Luck is just a word jealous people use to discredit your efforts.
Eventually is my favorite word and plays a huge role in my life.
If you keep chipping away at something, “eventually” something is going to happen.
“Seeing is believing”, which motivates to keep going to see what else could happen.
