Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Delarosa.
Hi Daniel, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I am 22 years old. I go by the name “SOLODOLOROZE” I got into making music when I was eight years old. I started out making gospel rap until I was about 13 years old. I stopped making gospel music because I wasn’t happy after a while because as a gospel artist, there’s only so much I can say as an artist and I realized I didn’t want to be labeled as a “gospel rapper” anymore. When I was 16, I decided to drop out of high school because I felt the path I chose to take didn’t necessarily require a high school diploma also I honestly didn’t care to be in school I felt it was wasting my time primarily because I knew I didn’t want to go to college and making music was deeply my passion. Ever since I left school, I have been chasing my dream while also fighting everyday life struggles and demons. I started working a job when I was 15 it was a school program job at Southwire. I was fired due to poor attendance at that age. I didn’t care to work nor did I take working a job seriously. After I was fired, I got a job at McDonald’s and I was working there until I was about 20 years old. I became a manager there when I was 19. I quit working there at 21 and now work for amazon. I am still chasing my dreams although life has been a struggle, I refuse to give up on my dreams and passion for music.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
While chasing my passion for music, I have been faced with many obstacles and challenges in my life. As I said, when I was 16 I dropped out of high school. At the age of 17, I battled my first major heartbreak even though it was considered “puppy love” it had a big impact on my character I battled with suicidal thoughts and depression I am thankful that I got through it and found my peace once more. When I was 13, my parents separated and my mother confessed to my family that the love she had for my father had faded away some time ago and that she was homosexual. I was confused at first but in the end, I was truly happy for her I do not agree in being in a marriage you are not truly happy in.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I record and create music.
What’s next?
My future plans are to get married, start a family, start an official record label and open an official recording studio.
