Rising Stars: Meet Jasmine Cherelle

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Cherelle.

Hi Jasmine, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I grew up an only child to A singer and Army recruit. Because of this, I moved around a lot and spent my childhood going between Detroit, MI and South Carolina. I also spent some time living in Buford, GA. My whole life, I’ve had a love for dance. I’ve taken dance classes been on the dance and cheerteam in Highschool as well. I remember walking on the street of downtown Detroit and people coming up to me regularly asking me to model. With my strict upbringing though, I always declined. It wasn’t until Summer of 2021 where I was approached about modeling and acting once again and decided to try it. Something like perfect and divine timing. And timing is everything. I had my first photoshoot with Wayne Grace Photography and started a TikTok page. Within days my Instagram grew from a few hundred to thousands and I reached over 45k followers on TikTok within two months. From all the sudden traffic to my page, I started getting offers to audition for films and the rest is history. I’m now at the point where I have to turn down roles. After my first movie, I realized I had a love I never knew. Acting has become the forefront of my endeavors. I eat, sleep and breath it. Always working on my craft, always networking, always setting personal goals. I’ve met some vets and they have kicked some knowledge to me on what they wished they had known early on and I’m taking it all in so that I can be the best at what I do and stand out among the crowd because there are a lot of talented and beautiful people. I want to make myself undeniable.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
A Director of mine often quotes “how bad do you want it?”. I use that phrase whenever I feel like something may be in the way. I don’t let anything or anyone hinder me. Period, I’m capable of getting over any obstacle presented if I try hard enough. Anyone can. If I had to name one challenge, it would simply be, being a woman. Being a woman in business comes with the challenge of not being taken serious, lack of respect, and lots of people shooting their shot. Lots of times it’s unwanted and unwarranted. A lot of times when I talk, men think I’m flirting but I’m literally just talking lol Especially when you’re presented in a sexy light, it’s definitely difficult to keep things on track and be approached professionally at all times.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I co-starred in “Black Lies” and was a Lead in the film “These Men For Everybody”. Both Streaming On Tubi as of Feb 2022. I’ve been a feature in a few other things as well. This year 2022, my plate is so full. I’m most excited about a new movie I’m doing with A Detroit Legend “k Deezy”. The movie is called ” Red Flags”, Lots of big players in the film and I’m excited to make magic!

What matters most to you?
I want to spend this year getting my face and name out there. I have booked so many roles for this first quarter that now I am focusing more on quality. I want to be a part of some great stories. What matters to me is giving people what they want. I want to make you laugh, cry, yell at the screen, fantasize. Entertaining the people, they don’t call me “the jas show” for nothing.
