Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Houston.
Hi Jessica, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
GoodVibeWraps originated in Columbia, South Carolina back in October 2016. It honestly started off as just a hobby to prevent myself from being less productive when I wasn’t working for Nestle at the time. Instagram opened my eyes to the art of wire wrapping and I was instantly hooked after creating a few pieces for myself. My friends were asking if my pieces were for sale and I thought “Why not?”. At that point, I would create pieces every day after work. After a few months, it was time to take GVW to local pop-ups and markets to see if creating could become my main source of income. With the amazing support of my fellow South Carolinians, I was able to quit Nestle after a year of creating jewelry!
As Good Vibe Wraps continued to grow it was time to try our luck in Atlanta Georgia. I knew instantly that this is where GVW needed to be. After attending countless amounts of events, there has been a tremendous amount of growth in our online presence, especially on Etsy. Every year gets better and better thanks to our amazing supporters! We are so grateful for you!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely has not been a smooth road, but the obstacles brought me to the amazing place that I am in today! When I first arrived to Atlanta there was no permanent place for me to reside. I spent a short amount of time in McDonough due to the commute being too long. I knew I had my car and a membership to Planet Fitness so that I could shower. After only having to sleep in my car for one night I no longer had to worry about where I would be staying thanks to the grace of God. I never gave up on GVW and I believe that is a huge part of why we were able to make a name for ourselves as one of the most creative jewelers in the city of Atlanta.

Good Vibe Wraps provides one-of-a-kind handmade copper and crystal healing jewelry. Crystals can be used as tools to help in aligning your chakras. This creates a more balanced life physically, spiritually, and emotionally. Each piece provides an energy that will ultimately protect your energy on a daily basis.
I am known for having pieces that involve great detail, showing that time and love was put into every single piece. I have oftentimes been compared to spiders and their ability to create breathtaking webs. It is super flattering!
I am extremely proud of the fact that GVW survived COVID and our Etsy shop has over 600 5-star ratings!
What sets me apart from others is that I am very reserved. I don’t put myself out there very much when it comes to who Jet is. This is something I want to work on
because it would be great to connect with other artist in Atlanta.
What’s next?
In the state of our current world, it’s sometimes hard to plan for the future. I can say that I would like for GVW to continue growing primarily online. I love clothes, especially thrifting, so learning how to make my own clothes is something that I want to pursue. I want to be an artist that has several platforms of creating. Jewelry is just the beginning.
