Today we’d like to introduce you to Kayshaun Brooks.
Hi Kayshaun, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve had a passion for medicine and holistic health since childhood. My mother and grandmother both worked in the medical field. I followed in their footsteps and worked for 20 years in the medical field and 10 was as a nurse. I started my passion of making products by looking for a solution for myself and my families sensitive skin issues. I personally have suffered since childhood and my children’s sensitive skin was more severe than mines.
After trying traditional treatments and medications, our skin was still an issue to manage. I slowly transitioned into using all-natural ingredients and studying intensely about eczema, HS, acne, scarring and many different sensitive skin conditions. For over the next decade, I would create and customize skincare products for myself, my family and many others depending what the issue was at hand. In 2018, I had the opportunity to put my products in a friend’s store, but I had to be a legit business. I thought it’s been ten years it’s time to make this a real business. I’m so glad I did because it would be the last year I worked in the medical field and I would be completely depending on this company to survive.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
This road has not been smooth at all. I’ve been walking totally in faith letting God lead me. The hardest struggle was continuing to build my company while I became extremely ill suffering with chronic pain and chronic health issues. All while raising my children and providing for my family with little to no help. I wanted to give up so many times, but when I looked around to see who was helping and believed in me, I literally saw no one. I heard a voice tell me to do what I know to do best, which was network, collaborate and build relationships. Utilizing this mindset allowed me to get in alignment with everyone who was meant to take this journey with me.
Learning to be real, open and vulnerable helped me meet people from all over the country who believed and truly supported me and my purpose. This in turn lead me into starting my own affiliate program 2 years after starting my company. My challenges have also taught me to appreciate what help or resources is around. Sometimes we focus so much on what’s going wrong that we don’t appreciate what is going right. My children are my biggest supporters when it comes to helping take care of me health-wise and helping me build my company.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m Kayshaun Brooks, a Holistic Pain & Trauma Warrior. Owner of an award-winning luxury skincare company, Renew You Body Butters. Specializing in helping to manage severe dry skin issues such as eczema, rosacea, hyperpigmentation and more. We offer private label and wholesale options as well. I’ve partnered with almost 60 affiliates and 1 celebrity brand ambassador who share our products and services. I’m now helping other entrepreneurs start and scale their own affiliate programs.
I’m most known for networking, collaborating and building relationships. I’m known for having a true passion for helping others. I’m most proud that I’ve been able to take everything that was meant bad for me and used it for the good.
What sets me apart for others is that I have a zealous relentless spirit that I get from my mother. We went through some of the most traumatic experiences that should have taken us out, but it didn’t. I’m still alive to walk fully into our purpose. I’m not just someone who woke up and said let me start a business in skincare. My family and I are products of the products. I love the fact that I get to take my 20 years of medical experience and holistic experience and now help others. My clients and future clients can get the best of both worlds.
What’s next?
I have some big plans ahead. One is fully walking into my holistic pain and trauma warrior purpose and helping others. This year I plan on writing and releasing my book about my journey as the dope fiend’s child, Start my non-profit dedicated to helping women and children affected by HIV, substance abuse, chronic pain and health sufferers, girls without fathers in their lives and mental health awareness. It’s time more awareness and attention is brought to these communities and spoken from a true pain and trauma warrior. I get to take my medical, nursing and holistic experience, my BSM degree, my Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt certification and make a major impact in this world. It’s Go Time!
