Rising Stars: Meet Kedric Marshall of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kedric Marshall.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Honestly? I was the guy randomly taking pictures of my cell phone at local events. At family functions/social gatherings? I was the selfie guy. I know that sounds weird, but people would ask me to take pictures of them on their cell phones. Some years later, growing tired of the same mundane routine, I realized I wanted to pick up the camera professionally and pursue my true passion. I’ve been “kapturing memorable moments” ever since.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Absolutely! The hardest thing about building a new business and being an entrepreneur is a LOT of work. Many people only get to enjoy the finished product, but this excludes the many nights I am up late preparing for a shoot the next day, editing photos, etc. Like any other business, where customer service is the pillar of your service exchange, you encounter the difficulties of the standard you want to set (image, pricing, etc.) and people being willing to meet you there. Then of course, there is the undeniable reality that your support won’t anticipate. Despite all, I am very proud of my growth, and I am excited to see what the future holds for Kaptured Moments Photography.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
While I love taking a variety of picture, I must admit that single/induvial shoots are my favorite. I usually challenge myself to really accentuate the eyes of the person in focus; giving them the opportunity to see themselves through my lens. Aside from that, angles and focus are everything to me! I believe that you’ll get the perfect picture when it’s shot at just the right angle. Combine that with extreme focus and clarity? It’s pure joy to me.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
Atlanta is a beautiful city that I often find to be a natural canvas for art, culture, and creativity. I find inspiration in the smallest things. The variety of blackness and expression here is breathtaking, and as a creative artist, that is a major asset.
