Rising Stars: Meet Kenjah

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kenjah.

Hi Kenjah, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
From a young age, I was trained in many arts. My parents wanted to make sure that their kids had opportunities to develop passions and skills that they never had the chance to when they were kids.

I started singing solos at five years old in family talent shows, then winning school and state talent shows such as Disney’s Talent & Convention Expo. I started training and competing in martial arts at five years old and continued for about ten years. I’m a 3-time first-place Martial Arts champion. I took piano lessons for three years, starting around seven years old. I started acting in self-produced plays and school musicals at 11 years old. My parents also invested in a couple of years of singing and acting lessons. Then later, I started dancing in High School in the school’s Show Choir dance group.

As long as I can remember, I’ve been competing and performing in various arts. Now as a young adult, I’ve been able to use these skills and talents professionally as I’ve always dreamed. Taking chances, creating my own dramatic and musical works, believing in myself, the grace of God, researching and contacting entertainment industry professionals to pitch my skills is how I’ve been able to draw opportunities into my reality.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I’ve faced more closed doors than I can count! The road has been filled with countless “No’s” and it wasn’t for a lack of talent because so many people in my life, including industry professionals, hoped to support me. Now, I realize it just wasn’t the right time for me. There was so much I had to learn about myself and life in order to be successful. I lacked self-knowledge and assurance and I see how it hindered me and also led to many closed doors along the journey. I can now truly appreciate every “Yes” and opportunity more than I ever would’ve before.

I’m grateful for the obstacles because each closed door gave me new wisdom as I learned something new about myself and, more importantly, about my purpose in life.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am mostly known as an Actress, Singer/ Songwriter and Model.

What sets me apart from others is that I’m not just a triple threat but a quintuple threat. I sing, dance, act, play piano and do martial arts. I’m excited for the day I get to use all those skills professionally!

I’m known for my musical performances around Atlanta as well as my comedic and dramatic roles in various shows. You can also catch me as “Olivia” in the fun and compelling reboot of “The Game” season 2 on Paramount+.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
People can collaborate and support me by following me on Instagram at @its_kenjah. People can also find me on music streaming platforms like Apple Music, Spotify and many others to download or stream my new singles “Still Love You,” “Kisses” and “While it Lasted”. On my Instagram, you’ll also get to see what movies or shows I’ll be in next so stay tuned!
