Today we’d like to introduce you to Lance Long.
Hi Lance, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
In 2011, I crossed over from Jump Shots to Snap Shots. Graduating college, then leaving New Haven CT for Atlanta, Ga has been both challenging and rewarding. The ups and downs of moving to a new city, combined with transitioning from a student-athlete to an entrepreneur-led me down a unique path. Staying solid and focused on my goals has allowed me to walk through doors I never dreamed of.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been far from a smooth road. Challenges were expected. What has been unexpected was finding True Friendship while on my quest for financial and spiritual independence. Only 1 year into my journey I met my business mentor and friend Gregory Harris. For the next 3 years, Gregory took me under his wing and showed me the ins & outs of entrepreneurship. Connecting me with his growing network and helping me to form my business which would later become LongShots Media LLC. Sadly, in April of 2014, Gregory passed away. Losing my business mentor and a great friend so early in my entrepreneurial journey could have broken me. Instead, it empowered me to push forward. Daily, I think of him and smile because I know I get to walk around with the gift of our shared memories. This alone is enough to get me through the valleys of entrepreneurship.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I would say that I am an artist and my main medium of choice is a camera. Whether it’s Photography or Video, I equally enjoy being behind the camera and in the editing booth. What sets me apart from other photographers is my unique eye only. Being me and living thru the experiences I have, has given me a perspective that no other photographer has. By continuing to develop myself as a man, I will continue to set myself apart. My clients often say I am very professional and courteous during our shoots, which is something I like to hang my hat on. My most proud accomplishment to date would be the creation of TakePicsHere.com. Which is a Photo Location Finder that allows users to get deep insights about a location. Giving them all the tools necessary to rock their photo shoots! Being a single developer in this endeavor has taught me lifelong skills in Coding, HTML and CSS.
What’s next?
The most important thing for me is to be consistent and content. So spending time with my wife, friends and family are at the top of my future plans personally. In terms of LongShots Media, I intend to help more brands curate their digital footprint with effective and dynamic digital content. The TakePicsHere Photo Location Finder will be a project I continue to work on long into my retirement years. Photography is a life-long practice, and I intend to shoot for a long -time📸
