Hi Latyra, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I have worked in the healthcare field as a Pharmacy Technician for nine years and often struggle to find uniform scrubs that comfortably fit my body type. I’ve found that most retail stores fail to meet the needs of women like myself that are curvy or not as tall. Most of the scrubs that are readily available come in small sizes or others are just too long and drag on the ground. After coming across Lydia Nelson’s story on Instagram, I became inspired and decided to become a scrub retailer via online and direct service.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The obstacles that I’ve faced is having to come out of my shell. I am an introvert which makes it difficult to interact with other individuals at social events. Also, balancing personal life (I have two daughters 12 and 7 years old), business and work life.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am currently a healthcare worker and I have a retailer scrub business. I’ve been worker as a Pharmacy Technician for nine years.
