Today we’d like to introduce you to Leonard Oxley.
Hi Leonard, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Mahalo was formed in a loft, converted into a practice space, that our previous bands shared. We started as a three piece, but over the course of four years and several band member changes we finally found the five people that would solidify the band. We began by playing local shows and recording our ep and then started branching out into other cities. The future looks bright despite our curse with random technical difficulties, but that allows us to get better each time we pick up our instruments.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
COVID-19 kept us from playing some shows… We wanted to play shows less because of the pandemic to be safe. It also took a while to find the right group of people to be in the band.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Mahalo is an indie rock band with a mindful yet soul-shaking energy. Our music revolves around personal struggles but also touches on the brighter sides of life.
