Today we’d like to introduce you to Levi Krevinghaus.
Hi Levi, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
How I started and how I got to where I am today…Well, Family first. I have the most amazing family and support system! No matter how hard or dark things seem, I know I can always turn to my wife and family. I have been very fortunate to be involved in the things that I love and that interest me most for as long as I can remember. Whether it was sports, choir, drama, whatever was available to me growing up, I always wanted to do my best in it. I don’t know if it’s being driven or being stubborn, maybe a bit of both, but I make it a point to make sure whatever I am doing makes me happy. I make sure I’m growing from it and that it fulfills me. I feel lucky to have been able to put all of my life experience and training to use and make a living in Entertainment. Currently, my work involves Acting/Producing/Directing/Fight Choreography/Sound Mixing for tv and film, as well as Live Event Hosting and Music Bingo.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s been as smooth as I could make it for myself lol. Not many people who work in Entertainment have a smooth ride. Everyone’s story on how they got into it is usually different from the next person’s story. It’s an industry that has so many different avenues you can take to get where you want for your career. Acting is one of the toughest. You deal with rejection and the word no more often than anyone likes. Constant judgment can cause self-doubt to be a thing you have to process more often than anyone likes. You might be “perfect” for a role, but the powers that be are gonna go a different direction. Challenges like these are pretty regular, so nothing can be taken personally. The only thing I have control over is my performance of the piece I was fortunate enough to be picked to audition. I just make sure to do my best to remain as positive as I can be, and I recognize I am very fortunate to be a part of all the gigs I have had.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
So according to my IMDB page, I’m pretty all over the place when it comes to what I do in production. Whatever it is that I’m involved in, I know that the main goal of mine is to affect people in a big way. That is what lets me know I’ve done my job well.
Acting allows me to reach people’s emotions and affect them in the rawest form. Make the audience love a good guy or hate a bad guy, or the opposite even…the job is to get them to feel that emotion or feeling to the biggest degree possible. Really, truly affect them.
Same goes for working behind the camera. I want to make sure that the part I’m responsible for is the absolute best it can possibly be. The safest it can be. The realest it can be. Making sure things are the most they can be for all involved on every set makes people want to work for or with you in the future.
