Today we’d like to introduce you to Sandra Barker McIntosh.
Hi Sandra, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Working as an Accountant Supervisor and System Administrator was safe. I desired more. I wanted more. I chose to use my voice and help others make a change in their lives. It was January 2020, and my husband and I had just returned from Jamaica. I had the opportunity to interview some fantastic guests for my upcoming Podcast I was preparing to launch in March. Then just two months later, Covid hit. My corporate position was eliminated.
I was at a crossroads. I could get another accounting position or chart a new path where I would challenge myself, step out on faith, and pursue a new direction as a Life and Accountability Coach. I was already coaching employees and family members to achieve goals quarterly. I started working as an Accounting Consultant to help increase my income.
I created the 90 Day Wins process with my employees initially. We achieved our goals each quarter. Then I did the same with my family. We each created the vision for our year. We decided on the goals we each wanted to achieve monthly. Then we got to work on achieving our goals. Each week, I received goal updates. Each person committed to their goals and reached them.
I love helping people achieve their goals. I enjoy strategizing with my clients and encouraging them to dream bigger. Providing that much-needed listening ear as they commit to their vision. This process helped me understand my purpose.
Today I continue to encourage clients globally to achieve goals every 90 Days. With my book Ignite the Goal Getter Within, I share my journey. With my Podcast 90 Day Wins, I share stories of other goal-getters and provide helpful guidance from my coaching journey. I believe we win together! We can choose to learn our lessons and achieve our wins every 90 Days.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Life’s journey is never smooth. I have experienced many struggles over the past two years. I decided to start a new career path in the middle of a global pandemic. What was I thinking? How could I make such a drastic change in such a crazy time? I had to figure out a new way of meeting and engaging with people. No face-to-face events were occurring. How would I solicit clients for my coaching business? How would I let people know I had made this change. My income had changed drastically. But everyone else was experiencing these significant changes in some shape or form. So I decided to take my advice. Focus on my coaching training. Speak with my Trusted Advisors and remember my faith. Understanding that life is full of challenges and obstacles. But as a Goal Getter, I can face the obstacles believing I will win. Knowing I will do the work to succeed. My work has allowed me to be inspired. By the fantastic people I am privileged to coach. These goal-getters have experienced significant challenges but have achieved their goals and dreams by faith.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Creating the 90 Day Wins Podcast has allowed me to propel my Coaching business. I can reach people all over the globe. I love encouraging others to believe in themselves. To have faith in their God-given abilities. To help them ignite the fire within. We all have dreams and desires. But are sometimes afraid to make those dreams a reality. One of my clients, Tamara Gammon, has been with me from the beginning of my coaching business. She has adopted the 90 Day Wins process for her business and continues to reap the benefits. Everything Tamara has planned and prepared for has happened for her business. She began with a goal to be in multiple stores with international exposure. She has surpassed these goals in record time. Her wearable clothing line and custom artwork are featured internationally. Her clothing lines and artwork sell out in multiple stores and boutiques in the US and Caribbean.
My coaching is unique because I offer accountability and life coaching. I allow clients to share their goals and help them execute wins. I want to see each client grow and succeed. I believe we win together.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Finding a mentor can be challenging. But it is worth it to find your Trusted Advisors and people who want to see you win. The most important thing is not being afraid to connect with people you believe can assist you on your journey. Reaching out to people in groups with like-minded goals has been helpful for me.
Join a Facebook group for Podcasters, for example, if you are interested in starting a Podcast. Or a group of women authors willing to assist you on your journey. Clubhouse has been helpful for me to meet other women business owners and coaches. The app allows you to get on stage and give and get advice. But you must be willing to raise your hand and get the help you desire.
Networking has changed, and we have to be bold in seeking the help and network we desire. Don’t be afraid to connect with people. We win together.
