Today we’d like to introduce you to Telisha Taylor.
Telisha, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’m a born and raised Charlestonian. I’m from Charleston, South Carolina. I’m a Behavior Interventionist full time. I work with kids who have special needs, specifically Autism more so at this time. I’ve always had a passion for fashion, traveling and the social scene. I would get a lot of questions regarding the places I’ve gone and the things I put on. That’s how I started my blog. I wanted to be able to share all of that in one space and people have access to it easily.
Has it been a smooth road?
I would say yes and no. Yes, because as a blogger, you have full control over your platform. This is your lane. I would say no in the sense that I hold myself to a higher standard and I challenge myself personally daily. Trust me they’re challenges when you want to have certain aspects and content on your platform that you don’t have access to. That’s when you have to be creative and find a way to make those things happen. You’re not invited to sit at every table. I’ve realized that some of those tables I didn’t want a seat at anyway. It’s amazing how no’s benefit you more than a yes sometimes.
Please tell us more about what you do, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I’m a social blogger, influencer and the creator of the blog “Fashionable Traveler.” This is where you can find me traveling through life and style fashionably.
I want people to influence people to experience something new. It may be a new local location, a new dish at a restaurant, a new cocktail at a bar, a new clothing line at a new boutique or even attend a new event! I’ve always believed experiences are just as important as education.
I’m most proud of the connections that I’ve made. I would say those are my proudest moments. I recently started a new venture and offer creative services to creatives and small business owners. When someone tells me I inspire them or motivated them in some way or I’ve been a positive influence in their life, that means everything to me. My purpose and passion is to be of service. So, if I’m able to do that I’ve done a job well done.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I think Charleston is a great city for my business. We have been voted number 1 tourist destination again for 2019. Tourist comes to experience new things and where better than Charleston, SC.
