Meet Bob Mackey of Boys & Girls Clubs of North Central Georgia in Madison

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bob Mackey.

Bob, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Boys & Girls Clubs of North Central Georgia was formed in 2010 in an effort to serve more youth and families in rural communities.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
There has been many obstacles to say the least. In many rural communities, the need outweighs the opportunity of service. Some of our struggles today would be personnel, operating funds/fundraising, and spacing needs to serve more kinds and communities.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Boys & Girls Clubs of North Central Georgia – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We are a non-profit organization.

We provide after school and summer programs. We are known for providing a safe-haven and academic hub for kids who need us the most.

We are most proud that BGCNCG is one of the largest youth serving organizations in the North Central Region.

Over half of our boys & Girls Club facilities are located in partnership with local school districts. This allows us to serve more kids-more often and keep cost low.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We are looking to expand into the Newton County area. This is a major milestone for the community and we’re excited to be able to join forces with the community who want the best for their youth and communities.
