Meet Jada Eason

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jada Eason.

Hi Jada, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
When I started online private school in 2019, that caused me to have a much more flexible schedule and with my spare time, I stared doing makeup. I was terrible at first, but I had so much fun doing it that I kept at it and kept improving. I had doubts about online school but now I’m happy I did it because I would never have time for makeup if I was still in traditional school.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I struggle with anxiety and depression and at one point, I took a break from everything for months, including makeup. But I was happy to be back when I did eventually come back. Teen mental heath is very important to me and hopefully, soon, I will be starting a segment on my YouTube channel about it.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a 14-year-old self-taught makeup artist, I make YouTube videos, I customize shoes, I paint and draw, I make jewelry, I will be making rugs soon, I love fashion and I’m learning to sew. I’m also in the Duke Tip program and Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth and I’m a Girl Scout. I’m most proud of how far I’ve come with my makeup skills and how far I’m going. My amount of skill at such a young age sets me apart from others.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I’ve always loved arts and crafts. I’m really into fashion. I make jewelry, I make rugs, I paint, I do custom shoes and I’m learning to sew. My personality is easygoing. I am kind of quiet until I get to know you. Sometimes I feel like I’m kind of awkward because I’m mature for my age.
