Meet Lorene Fleming

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lorene Fleming.

Hi Lorene, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always wanted to start my own business, actually more than one. I’ve always been a person who doesn’t limit themselves to certain careers. I began to want to do hair, nails and lashes. Although I knew I had to at least perfect one, I knew I wanted to start a business in that field. I tried each profession but couldn’t seem to just stick with one. So I then started to get into fashion and wanted to start my own clothing line or something in that nature. So I then started brainstorming on what I’ll sell not only to my generation but others to. Then I came up with the name Tiamanis Collection which is my middle name. Then I told my grand-dad and he told me the steps to get my name and start a website. I then got my name and started searching for vendors that sell clothes and swimsuits. I found swimsuits and then began to sell them. And then as time passed, I wanted to do more, so I added bonnets, headbands, and other accessories to my collection. And of course, I just still thought having one business wasn’t enough for me, so after my birthday, I started taking making different treats serious. I used to make cake pops and other desserts when I was younger and sold them to my friends and family.

In school, I would always use computers and the different apps on them. I began to make my own water labels and chip bags in middle school and now I offer my services for events. Once I realized I wanted to make treats and continue making custom items for parties, I stayed up watching other people bake and different techniques people use to create treats. Now I have customers texting me everyday wanting either treats or items from tiamaniscollection. I got here today by my hustle and determination. Although people always told me to stick to one thing, I made a way to do multiple and never gave up even when things were slow.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The only major main struggles I had was finding the right occupation and sticking to it. Since I don’t limit myself, it was a bit hard for me to focus and get fully started in my business because I always want to do more. And also in the beginning after we approached covid 19 my sales were starting to get low. Eventually I found more products to sale and my business started to grow.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I have too successful business right now. R&T treats is the name of my treats business. I specialize in chocolate-covered strawberries and strawberry towers. I create other treats for parties and events such as rice Krispies, Oreos, and cake pops. And I also make custom water labels and chip bags. When it comes to treats, we are known for making chocolate-covered strawberries. I am most proud of perfected different treats and not just one. My other business I sell swimsuits, headbands, bonnets and hats. I’m most proud of having trendy styles and being able to help others feel confident in their look. In the Tiamanis collection, I am most known for my swimsuits and cover-ups. What sets me apart from others is the different styles I provide and making other treats.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I want to thank my mom Tonya Young and my sister Syntonia Young for helping me with my treat business. When I have a big order to prepare, my mom and sister take time out their day to help me finish making treats so that I complete the orders in a timely manner. I would also like to give credit to my best friend Robyn Redmond which is my partner in our treat business. I’ve been trying to perfect making certain treats for years and after my birthday, she encouraged me to take it seriously. My sisters Stacy and Chan and brother Cobii have been my cheerleaders through my whole journey of becoming an entrepreneur and deserve credit also for always motivating me and posting everything I do on social media. But I also want to give special credit to my family and friends for always supporting me in both of my upcoming businesses. They all have played a big role in my success.
