Rising Stars: Meet Cierra Ross

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cierra Ross.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started my business C.ROSS MADE, last year in April. I started my business primarily out of having more time, being that my full-time time moved to being remote. I have always been creative from the age of ten. I remember always taking “out of style” clothing and revamping them. I will say my journey of jewelry design began in college at NCA&TSU. I started out creating bracelets which then moved to earrings. I hate that I didn’t have the courage to push myself into actually turning it into a business back then. I could only imagine the things I would have achieved. Better late than never. This first year of business has been AMAZING! I have achieved so much in such a short amount of time I just can’t wait for the future.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
For the most part, it has been pretty smooth. The most difficult thing for me to overcome and understand was that not everyone is going to like your work. As an artist, your work is like your children, so it stings a little when you don’t think/feel it’s being appreciated.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’d say I’m a Jane of all trades. When it comes to being creative, I can do it all. As of right now, C.ROSS MADE is primarily known for handmade statement piece earrings. I am most proud of the uniqueness my earrings have. My designs set me apart from the others by the details I include. I created a collection titled “Black Women Are…” Each earring of the collection represents who we are. Bold, Mystical, Fierce, etc. It is my favorite collection I have created!

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
This is a hard one! I’d say that with every release I do, I get extremely nervous about how well my customers will receive my work. This is surprising because I am known for being bold and fearless.
