Today we’d like to introduce you to Patrice Lindo.
Hi Patrice, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I work with both individuals and organizations to advance women using an agile approach to accelerate their path to leadership and entrepreneurship. I create career fast-tracking strategies and a customized roadmap for impactful and supportive actions to undergird their success.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I have learned, and “unlearned” many things throughout my career journey. For instance, I had to unlearn that working yourself to death and self-sacrifice does not always unlock the keys to success. It’s about creating a mindset shift and setting ourselves up for success through positive self-talk and reinforcement. I constantly repeat this mantra to myself and recommend my clients and colleagues to do so also, there is power in words. “I absolutely deserve success and abundance and I am worth it—in every way”. I believe that you need to develop an intentional combination of knowledge, expertise, and intuition—that’s how you overcome and call-in to success.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I help corporate women of color fast-track their career by effectively navigating and leveraging the dynamics within White corporate spaces. At Career Nomad, we empower women to release the limiting beliefs they have through changing the energy and language they use daily to create synergy in their personal and professional areas of their life. One thing to be unlearned as a high achieving woman in corporate America. A lot of what we have learned are protective barriers that can eventually become a cage. Responses such as: Never mind, I’m good I got it I’ll just do it myself I don’t have anybody else but me to get things done It’s all good Fine I’m not the one Fake it till you make it This is a trauma response. Let’s focus on scaling resilience to build capacity to thrive as a holistic concept.
