Conversations with Xavier Grace

Today we’d like to introduce you to Xavier Grace.

Hi Xavier, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Starting out with no focus no goals skating through life as a kid to teen I was purposeless. A small handful of things I enjoyed and half as many I was actually good at. In a chorus classroom finessing my way to Disney world I walked in on my now best friend of quite a few years freestyling to people playing the piano. Prior to this I didn’t know much about rap music I was in 8th grade grew up in a gospel r&b household. From the moment I jumped in and started rapping I haven’t been able to stop. Rap has my whole heart after soul searching and potentially almost losing my life at Roswell mills the rapper Roswell was born about three years later and he’s here to be a staple in the genre.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I took time to study the game the history to be so well versed. Doubt from my peers and mother with the struggles of lost and grief I learned to deal through these songs. Losing my uncle probably hit harder than anything more than a shady showcase or deals falling through I lost my father figure who never got to hear me rap but was a true master of the game I learned from.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
A common phrase coined by the producer who helped me start recording in the first place I don’t rap I sculpt air. More of a writer then a musician my lack of being able to play instruments but make poetry made me able to showcase my creativity through my songs. I love to bar up lyrically and just convey my thoughts through expression in my voice. I rap my a** off to say the least.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up I was hell kicked out of schools for anger issues growing up in Brooklyn experiencing a lot that I learned to never talk about it. I was so confined to my thoughts watching life kind of play around me instead of living. I got in so much trouble I moved to East point (Fulton) got in more trouble and ended up in calm kennesaw. I didn’t have many interests before rap just expectations to do better and a love for horror movies.
