Today we’d like to introduce you to Carrisa Jones.
Every Girl Shines is the vision of founder Carrisa Jones. In 2008, serving as a Youth Director for her church, Carrisa realized that there was no support network for the young women in her community. Wanting to provide an inclusive space for them to lean on and learn from each other, she, along with Melva Robertson, started Angels Ministry, which has since transformed into Every Girl Shines.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It has been a smooth road mostly because I’ve always been known for working with youth, and therefore, parents were willing to partner with us and we are extremely grateful.

Every Girl Shines is focused on developing middle and high school girls by pairing them with professional women who will lead them to create a better world. By learning the values of loving, leading, and living from strong female role models, stars of Every Girl Shines will feel empowered to shine bright like a diamond! We are headquartered in Atlanta, with locations in Daytona Beach, Florida and Seattle, Washington.

Our core values are Loving, Leading and Living. Throughout the year, each of our quarterly events are centered around these values to ensure we move towards our vision of developing effective female leaders who foster a better world.
