Hi Judith, so great to have you join us again. For folks who might have missed our earlier conversations, can you please take a minute to briefly introduce yourself?
I am unapologetically a full-time, hopeless romantic. As a child I read romance novels and dreamed about my wedding (gorgeous flowers, killer dress, finger-licking good food etc.) I was in high school planning my wedding and the names of my 4 kids, lol. I had the dream of my wedding and honeymoon – I was going to be princess for a day and live my fairy-tale. As it turned out, things happened a little differently. There was no fairy-tale, especially for my honeymoon. I spent so much time planning the wedding that I forgot about the details of the honeymoon and “settled” for a “deal.” Ooops!

When my son got married, he repeated the same mistake I made. That was a double-whammy! To add salt to the wound, I read that only 25% of couples experienced their dream honeymoon.

So White Sand Travel began 13 years ago to help discerning couples who yearn to see their fairy-tale vision come to life instead of having another cookie-cutter vacation or a disappointing experience.

White Sand Travel’s custom, personalized service and range of luxury packages ensure that your destination wedding or honeymoon fits your personality, your budget, and your deepest dreams and desires. I work with you to design an escape or event that captures the essence of your love, taking the stress out of travel planning so you can focus on celebrating your “I dos” in the utmost style.

Who is your target audience?
Discerning couples who seek a fabulous honeymoon, a fairy-tale wedding, a romantic journey or a memorable vacation that will bring them closer together.

What sets White Sand Travel apart from online booking agencies?
White Sand Travel is unique in that we believe in “custom design and planning.” No two couples are alike so we don’t plan cookie-cutter itineraries. We design bespoke experiences. We are known for our VIP service, relationship building and “value added” romance packages. We don’t crank out transactions, we take your love story and like a painter, we curate “your” unique experience. We make things simple and hassle-free so all you have to do is “Imagine + Go” – show up and have the time of your life without ever having to lift a finger.

Is working with you more expensive relative to booking on your own?
I get this question all the time. And the short answer is no. I do have a planning fee as do most professionals. The value that comes with having me plan your special day is absolutely worth it.

What is the thing that is most overlooked when someone books travel on their own?
OMG, I will try to keep this brief. Often, people confuse price and value – they are not the same. A discounted package that results in a discounted experience is not worth it. Look for value such as duration of flight, complimentary honeymoon packages, complimentary wedding benefits, exclusive inclusions etc. There are lots of benefits that are left on the table because DIY travelers do not have the insider knowledge to get these benefits.

Why does White Sand Travel specialize in romance travel?
When you’ve had a bad experience, I think it is a built-in instinct that you want to help people avoid the same thing. Because my honeymoon was so far removed from what I had in mind, I knew there was something wrong. When my son made the same mistake, I was even more convinced. As I spoke with couples, I began to see a common thread. Not many couples had a once-in-a-lifetime honeymoon experience. That spoke volumes to me. I’m a romance junkie, I can’t help rooting for love and experiences that fan the flames of that love.

What top 3 things would you advise a honeymoon couple to do if they want a successful honeymoon?
Successful honeymoons are not like ordinary trips. They are meant to be memorable (in a good way!)

1. The reliance on the internet and Trip Advisor is huge. Reviews are subjective, pictures can be outdated. Knowledge is power and should trump guess work.

2. Advance planning is critical. Last-minute booking may result in unavailability and price increases that can end up in disappointment for couples.

3. Unrealistic budget is a big culprit. Just as a wedding budget is essential, so is a honeymoon budget. Start with a honeymoon assessment checklist and document essentials for your honeymoon and establish a budget to match your needs.

It was so great to reconnect. One last question – how can our readers connect with you, learn more or support you?
The busyness of life often robs us of the things we treasure the most – spending time with those we love; falling in love and staying in love. I want to design your exquisite, exclusive and uncommon escape so you can relax, rejuvenate and fan the flames of love and passion with your special someone.
