Hi Ashante, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My name is Ashante,’ and I am the owner of JRUE Beauty & Spa. I was born in the DMV area but raised in Decatur, GA. The birth of JR.U.E Beauty came about as both a persona as well an acronym with the J is dedicated to my family name and “RUE” meaning reviving unique effortless beauty. My company has a mobile spa dedicated to offering premium facial services, non-invasive body contouring, body waxing, and permanent make-up. Growing up I always had a joy for helping others find a sense of security in their physical image therapeutically. Originally, I attended college majoring in psychology, but midway through my studies, I found that my passion beauty/skincare was stronger, influencing a change in my field of studies. I have been a licensed esthetician for 9+ years, an assistant laser practitioner, permanent make-up artist, and post-operative cosmetic nurse. I would consider myself to be a jack of my trade. I take great pride in investing into myself/business with consistently enrolling in certified trainings for some of the most popular and up to date skincare treatments, so that I can offer my clients the most effective services.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not always been a smooth road for me, especially with my company being a mobile spa. I had to learn the hard way with a few things. In the beginning, there were times that I had equipment break that was not made to be transported on a frequent basis for mobile spa needs causing me to have to purchase more suitable equipment. I also had to establish a good work-life balance so that I don’t burn myself out traveling to multiple sides of town in a day. I never really considered that the demand for my services would eventually expand to clients that are located beyond the Atlanta area and its perimeter. Even though I had to learn through trial and error managing my schedule, it is a blessing to have my business expand to new clientele.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in body contouring that is beneficial for clients who have recently undergone cosmetic surgery or those who don’t want to have surgery and are looking to tighten skin and reduce small amounts of fat. This is done by using radio-frequency, ultrasonic cavitation, vacuum therapy, and wood therapy. I have dedicated myself to years of training in the cosmetic/plastic surgery industry, where I have learned these techniques. Furthermore, this led me into offering clinical training for like minded individuals in the beauty industry looking to add body contouring services to their business. I think what sets me apart from others is that I offer more than just services and trainings at JRUE Beauty I provide unforgettable experiences and euphoric vibes.
What are your plans for the future?
In the near future, I will officially be opening my loft studio located in castleberry hills where I will offer all my services as well as my trainings. I would still occasionally offer mobile services for spa parties for my VIP clientele. Even though I have been selling my body care line “Retrograde” to the public over the last year, I will be doing an official launch later this year.
