Conversations with Angela Payton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Payton.

Hi Angela, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Honestly, I just got tired of seeing death on my timeline. I looked at it as missionary work to try to put a smile on people’s faces instead of always seeing negative things on Instagram, especially what was going on in the world. So I decided to create videos with all types of recipes based on foods from people’s favorite restaurants or comfort foods. I gained more than 200,000 followers and more than two million likes on Tik Tok in a little over one month. I hope my videos will bring joy in a world that appears to need it now more than ever.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Being a full-time Mom, educator and influencer, you are often hit with the obstacles of everyday life, especially during a pandemic. While juggling the task of my job as influencer, I’m also in school full time, earning my Bachelors degree. Like I tell my fans, it’s hard trying to keep up with the jones while creating unique food recipes while doing it out if enjoyment.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a Behavior Specialist at Ballou Stay High School by day and a social media food influencer.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
I surround myself with people that want me to excel. I have two mentors, and they serve their purpose differently but equally.
