Hi Ashley, thank you so much for sitting down with us again. For folks who might have missed our initial interview, can you start by briefly introducing yourself?
My name is Ashley Ford, I’m a 28 year older Kentucky bred, locked in, connected and fed up and down I75, entrepreneur, writer, and mother of four. I started my road to success after first hitting rock bottom. I was a traveling exotic dancer which is where I built most of my network but in 2015 I got myself in some trouble trying to save a girl who I thought was my friend at the time from an abusive relationship and ended up with a felony charge and signing two years of y life over to the common wealth of Kentucky and honestly they railroaded me but it was something that changed my life for the better. After I was released I went back to dancing to get back on my feet but I went back with a different outlook and a plan. While I was incarcerated my mother was fighter breast cancer which she would go on to fight for a total of five years before passing in May of 2019. After she passed I was back at the University of Kentucky where I was perusing a law career so I could help save people from going through what I did. I have one year left to graduate but I’ve taken the semester off due to my focus being on my business. My business, Erica’s Angels Inc is named after my mother and I started it to continue what my other started. During her journey she ran a website through Facebook where she allowed her audience into her life as she educated them on cancerous topics. Since starting Erica’s Angels I have spread my company’s wings and I now focus on just about any and everyone who may need support and/or resources. I’ve also collaborated with another company where I’m administrating sober living programs and activities for clients all over. I’m also working on a new branch of my company that I’ve named “Zooties World” which is named from my youngest daughter’s nickname who is autistic. I will be making clothes that support autism and we will also come out with different themed designs each month as well.
Are you working on anything new you’d like the community to know about? Are you looking for new employees, donations, or volunteers?
I’m currently working on a branch off from Erica’s Angels called Zootie’s world which will focus on autism. I plan on starting a college fund/ scholarship to be able to give out once a year that will be from money raised in fundraisers. I am looking for donations towards that and future events along with volunteers and hopefully soon I will be looking for new employees as well.
Where do you plan to see your business in the next 5 years?
I plan for my business to be a household name in the next five years. I’m not sure exactly what my business will be like in the next 5 but I for sure plan on it expanding and becoming a franchise even
Thank you so much again for sharing all of this with us. Before we go, can you share with our readers how they can connect with you, learn more or show support?
