Meet Jim Lewis of Complete Water Services

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jim Lewis.

Hi Jim, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am President of Complete Water Services, LLC, a water/wastewater treatment company based in Marietta, GA. We primarily provide systems to remove pollution from industrial manufacturing plants such as food processing. We provide systems across the USA and internationally.

I have been involved in water treatment since the Clean Water Act was passed in the USA and it has been very rewarding to be involved in providing clean water for our clients and our communities and ensuring our customers maintain compliance with environmental regulations. CWS built systems remove tons of pollution from wastewater every day and we are proud of our contribution to providing safe water for a sustainable future.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
My obstacles have included starting new small businesses and developing trusting relationships with our clients to grow the company while competing with some of the world’s largest water treatment companies. It has been challenging to hire and grow our company experts but it has also been very rewarding to develop a team I am very proud of. Our work has required me to travel all over the world and that can be challenging and tiring sometimes.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
CWS provides design/build water and wastewater treatment systems for industrial facilities, including food processing, breweries, automotive manufacturing and power plants, along with many other plants that use water for cleaning, cooling and other processes. In addition, we provide consulting services to fix existing systems with problems and operate their systems for them on a long-term basis. We also provide treatment plants for communities that do not have access to sewer connections.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
It is critical to developing a market niche that will allow your company to be successful with the skills you and your team can provide clients. You also have to consider your client’s long-term needs and make recommendations as if you were responsible for their company. You have to do the work when you say you will and deliver on the scope of work you say you are going to provide. If you can do those things, you will develop trust with your clients and your company will be successful.
