Today we’d like to introduce you to Charisse Morgan.
Hi Charisse, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I was born and raised in Queens, New York, and as a result I adapt quickly to change. I have resided in the North Georgia Suburbs for 27 years. I began my career in Information Technology over 20 years ago as a software tester with Bellsouth for the launch of .NET. As a teenager, I always gravitated to Computer Programming right after writing my first “Hello World” screen display. I later decided to pursue a career as a software developer, which I truly enjoyed.
After giving birth to my girl/boy/girl triplets in 2004, I instantly became a hustler as I refused to work only to pay for daycare. I brainstormed and decided “eMarketing Solutions” was my ticket to success. With only a single client (Ken & Gail Ferguson – owners of Curves & Young Chefs Academy at the time) who gave me a chance, I produced electronic newsletters for both of their businesses comprised of multiple locations for each. Not long after the closing of Young Chefs Academy, I decided to restructure my business into a technology solutions company consisting primarily of web development.
For ten years, my career consisted of a dual role both business owner and CEO for my four children. During the last three years in this dual capacity, I obtained my second graduate degree in Health Administration/Informatics as I repositioned myself for a full-time position in the healthcare arena. Database Administration and Web Development have always pulled at my heartstrings. Now I have the best of both worlds Database Administration during the day and Web Development in the evenings and on the weekends. In both arenas, I make an impact in the lives of all the individuals I interact with using my analytic expertise and creativity. Today I am a focused mother, professional, and business owner giving 110% to everything I do.
I have always been labeled as an overachiever that views quality as a requirement not an option. Viewing the glass as half-full instead of half-empty is the optimistic approach I take with everything.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My journey was not an easy one, but I am a better person as a result. As a solo parent, I have sacrificed a lot to ensure that my children experience a lifestyle suitable for young princesses and a prince. I accomplished this by working a full-time job, completing my second graduate degree and raising my children on one salary. By the grace of God, I have overcome many obstacles and still climb mountains today.
People tell me all the time that I make what I do look easy and that I am a strong woman. In all actuality, I do not consider myself any stronger than anyone else. I do and did what I have/had to do to make things happen. I am determined to live a happy, successful life with the sky being the limit. Morgan Elite Enterprises may not be a Fortune 500 company, but the smiles I put on my client’s faces when they see their websites for the first time is priceless. All the sleepless nights to meet a targeted deadline pays off each time, and I am as humble and grateful as I was the day I began this journey almost 17 years ago. My personal mission statement is “You only get One Life so live it to the fullest with NO regrets.” This is how I live my life each day, as life is too short.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
I keep my circle tight by including only positive, professional, goal-driven and God-fearing individuals. My advice for successful networking is to be quick to listen and slow to speak. Surround yourself with people that are willing to pour into your dreams not deplete them. The analogy I like to use both professionally and personally is “Only accept deposits and decline withdrawals”, too many withdrawals and not enough deposits will leave you empty. Treat your business as your prized possession. Locate a local group in your area that specializes in your type of business and get involved.
