Today we’d like to introduce you to Auree Rosé.
Auree, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Well, I am originally from Atlanta. I grew up on the Eastside to two hardworking parents. My mother is an experienced hairstylist with more than 35 years in the industry. Coming of age, I remember her styling hair from the garage of our house while my dad worked. I would randomly wander through to experience a piece of what was going on before being told to “get out of grown folks’ business.”
I heard rap and R&B music for the first time. I witnessed the latest hair trends from Hype Hair or Jet Mag being brought to life. I also listened to the many growing pains of life that often resulted in traumatic or drastic hair experiences. The older I got, the more I was engulfed in my mother’s business, willingly and unwillingly. Her salon was our aftercare, our first job, and our foundation for self-care from a beauty aspect. I like to believe those moments laid the foundation for how I got started and where I stand today.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My journey has been the furthest thing from a smooth road! First and foremost, I was chasing a completely different career path in the pursuit of doing what others thought would be best for me. I was poised to become a doctor, but I could not stay off YouTube and Instagram to look up the latest hair techniques and trends. So learning not to take every suggestion or opinion as valid was a big one for me. Aside from that, cutting out the noise to find my way was a struggle, even today! But the more intentional I become about my spiritual journey, the more discernment comes about.
Also, my struggle for “perfection” only made my road bumpier. Naturally, I am really critical of my performance or lack thereof in some instances. I had to learn that I needed to extend the same grace I give to others, to myself. Lastly, I had to learn to celebrate my wins, small or big; I toast up to them all because I deserve to. Life is too short for me to wait for someone else to recognize or praise my merit.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Rsquared² Collection?
My business is an e-commerce virgin hair company. I offer my clients single donor virgin hair extensions, wigs, and lace products, ranging in lengths and textures. In addition to high-quality hair, I provide a customer experience that welcomes women to reimagine beauty from their unique perspectives, not the parameters of a job or societal standards. Embracing the “image is yours” mindset, Rsquared² Collection invites women to reimagine and reinvent the possibilities of hair through extensions.
I wear any, and every hat or wig need be for my business. What I cannot do, I partner with others who can, and together we execute! In this business season, I am doing myself the due diligence of getting the help I need to sustain and scale my business. Ultimately, I believe my purpose is what sets me apart from others. My business was cultivated from the need to find top-quality hair extensions that hold their value longer than a few weeks or one install.
There is an inside joke among the black community that “everybody is selling hair,” to a certain point, it’s true! The hair industry is viable and has uncapped earning potential, which draws many people into the business. But that’s not why I started, and that’s not why I continue to push forward. As a consumer, I got into the business because I saw the need for a better standard of hair that consistently delivers. My business stands firm on the core values of operating with integrity, passion, boldness, and a commitment to our clients.
Brand wise, I am most proud of my start and the journey to keep growing. Starting a business is not as easy as many people make it seem on social media. But with a good foundation, a plan, and the willpower to persist through any circumstance, it is achievable! Starting this business has allowed me to walk in the purpose of what has been promised to me. So, I work forward to manifesting many great things in business, like expanding the RSC community!
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I am always looking to collaborate with hairstylists and independent beauty consultants in the community looking for a reliable hair supplier to ensure their clients have the best experience outside of the chair. In addition, I am always open to working with photographers, freelancers or consultants experienced in graphic design, marketing, web/product development, or any expertise in the beauty industry as a whole. Other than that, supporting our efforts on social media or joining our members-only network through our website would be greatly appreciated!
