Today we’d like to introduce you to Katie Dobson.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I went to school for graphic design at Auburn University. After graduation, I spent several years designing in-house at a few places, at an agency, and eventually started my own business, Dahlgren Designs. I love owning my own business because the freedom that comes with it, but more importantly, the personal connections I have with my clients.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Of course, there were struggles. After deciding to open my own business, I struggled to find clients and then worked on building long-term relationships once I found them.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a graphic designer. I work on everything, including websites, branding, marketing, social media, and everything in between. I am most proud of the work I have done for clients that I have had for several years. While I love all of my clients, my favorites are the local small business.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love the creativity in the Atlanta area. There are so many artists creating all around the city. I love the community we have created. My least favorite thing is the traffic. 🙂
