Exploring Life & Business with Miani Leaks of CrownedFitness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Miani Leaks.

Hi Miani, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I am 21 years old, born in Northside Hospital Atlanta, GA, on September 2nd, but I was raised on the NAWF! At first, I was just a woman with a lot of ideas and things that I enjoyed doing with my spare time, like working out, reading, and writing. I was good for writing my feelings, things that I had experienced growing up, and things that I had always questioned regarding my adoption. I kept notebooks, letters, mostly everything and writing was something that I carried with me and still cherish to this day. I was always a straight-A student, never got in trouble in school, always made sure to be the best that I could. I went from cheerleading for 14 years total, to being a young entreprenuer. I always loved school for some reason, so after I graduated high school, I went straight into undergraduate school at Kennesaw State University, studying Nursing as my major, and Finance as my minor.

My freshman year was really hard. because I did not have a car and I was choosing to focus entirely on school in the beginning. Despite me finishing the semester with a 3.4 and all A’s, I ended up dropping out of school for a year to work full-time at QT to be able to buy myself a car and then re-enroll in school. In the time period where I was taking 30-minute lyfts to work at 4 AM, I met a woman who introduced me to the travel business, and I eventually became a travel agent. She introduced me to the seven different sources of income and all of the benefits that came behind being a travel agent and I jumped at the opportunity almost immediately. I get paid to travel all around the world, getting 50%-80% commission, all on my own time. I just recently took a two-week trip to Hawaii! It was amazing. I didn’t ride my first airplane until I was 21, so traveling the world was something I always wanted to do. Getting to do that and not having to move on anyone else’s time is my favorite part about it.

After a while, I had saved up enough and had been introduced to cryptocurrency and investing, so I began my investments portfolio around the same time. Everything has been uphill since. I found out that I was adopted at a young age, and at the age of 13, I found out that my biological sister had been abused and starved to death. It was all over the news and every social media outlet that I was using at the time. Experiencing that at a young age was life-changing because not many people knew that I was adopted or that I had other siblings biologically, and I was enrolled in public schools around the time. Not many people still to this day know that we’re related. After her passing I experienced many trials and tribulations, trying to make discoveries about my family and myself while also trying to figure out where it is I belong and what it is that I am supposed to do. Eventually, it crossed my mind that I should put together all of my notebooks, and letters, and everything that I’ve been searching for into writing a novel. It is something that I have been working on for a long time because I don’t want to rush it, and ultimately I’m still writing the pages and discovering new things still to this day. One day I’ll tell our story. I was always active, which led me to start CrownedFitness LLC, my own fitness apparel line.

In college, even though I didn’t cheer, I continued to exercise in the gym every morning, running miles and maintaining my body weight. I’ve been working hard operating the business on my own because I told myself I never wanted to feel how I felt again my freshman year and the time period after that. When COVID hit, I was an essential worker and I was very stressed and even caught COVID in the meantime. That was when I decided that it was time for me to start working for myself, making things happen for myself, and making my money work for me. I know that I wouldn’t have any of this or be where I am today, still enrolled at KSU, a small business owner and entrepreneur, without GOD. I thank him every day for everything that he has blessed me with, and everything that is soon to come. I have had many people help me along the way and a lot of support from friends and family that has kept me going. I think my sister’s story also helped a lot of children having problems with DFCS and abuse, so I want to always cherish the difference she has made for everyone.

Running multiple businesses can be hard at times especially being a nursing student because I’m doing everything on my own, shipping everything on my own, but I don’t want sympathy; I just want my hard work to speak for me. Working from home is always a blessing and getting to travel with such great benefits while also blessing others with those great benefits, is what makes me happy. It’s honestly the best part about it. I enjoy making the best out of every day and the challenges God throws at me to prepare me for the better. There is a lot that people don’t know about me that I hope to share in my upcoming novel and through all of my creative ideas in my businesses! I’m so grateful for this opportunity.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth rode. I feel like nothing in life really is. Being adopted at a young age always makes things a little more complicated, especially when you have so much to find out about your biological family, and then to lose one of those siblings along the way is hard. Don’t get me wrong I was raised very well, I love my mom (the woman who adopted me and raised me since birth) and I am grateful that God blessed me with her, but experiencing something as traumatic as that at such a young age can do some things to your mind.

There were other distractions that I of course, could have interfered with, like guys and silly drama, you know but that’s just life. Those are learning milestones that I think everyone needs to experience to truly grow and elevate. I definitely was my own biggest letdown, simply just not believing enough in myself sooner and not putting my thoughts and ideas into motion. Seeing the world change during COVID was also definitely a big eye-opener for me. School can also be hard at times, especially with everything being online and me being mostly a hands-on learner; the challenges are endless, but I am strong. I know that I can take on anything.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about CrownedFitness?
I was an active cheerleader from the age of 4 to 18, but I lost my passion for cheer after going to college. I still continued to work out and lift weights almost every day, gaining more love and passion for fitness! After a while, I began looking for workout sets and other accessories to feel more comfortable in a while working out and eventually, in the summer of 2020, I decided to start a fitness apparel line of my own! I only deal with the best of the best and the highest quality, so that’s where the name Crowned Fitness comes from; you only crown the best and that is what I intend to offer everyone else!

Nothing but the best is guaranteed, and so far, the reviews have matched that! I am the only person who operates the business, and I do also train people weekly, helping them to reach their body goals! I recently started consultations with people to help them figure out better diets and everyday routines to reach their goals more efficiently. I was Crowned Prom Queen of my class in 2018, and I know that’s so old but I feel like I was crowned the best, so I have nothing to offer but the best; everything I do has to be the best of the best, I have to look my best, feel my best, and I think CrownedFitness LLC. helps me to express that in so many different ways. Currently, I am only selling waist trimmers and resistance bands but it is a unisex brand and I do intend on expanding every chance that I get!

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
God. He is the reason for it all, and my mom of course. She’s supported me through it all. I’ve had many supportive mentors, teachers, friends and family who believed in me and called me out on things when I didn’t even believe in myself. Pushing me to start writing that book, to start that business, to make that investment, to take things a little more seriously. It was just that little extra push that set me out for a long road.
