Life & Work with Serenity “Sereé” Abellard

Today we’d like to introduce you to Serénity Abellard, known to most as simply Sereé.

Sereé is a homeschooled, full of life, older sister, and a an influencer at eight years old. She watched other children play with toys on YouTube and requested to do the same at the age of four; Her parents encouraged her to think of different ways she could influence, inspire and motivate other children. So one day, she informed her parents that she could read stories to the other children. So she started her youtube channel reading children’s storybooks in different languages. 

Sereé writes and reads almost every day. She has a journal and is encouraged to write daily. Sereé wrote a story in her journal titled Dream, in which she talks about dreaming of what to be and not limit oneself. Once reviewed by her parents, they decided it should be published. Sereé’s story/book Dream was published. Currently working on her second main book title, WAKE UP, she talks about acceptance. She wrote WAKE UP after she marched in a protest after the George Floyd incident. WAKE UP will be available for purchase by the end of the year. @storytimewithseree

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were some of the challenges?
It has been well. Sereé loves the feedback she receives and loves talking about her talents; another thing that excites her is when she is out in public and hears others speaking one of the six languages she communicates in and understands. 

 What else should we know about Sereé?
Sereé is known for her multiple language speaking/writing skills and publishing a book at six. The languages are French, Chinese, Creole, English, and sign language, and she is learning Spanish.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about Sereé?
Sereé goes to the bathroom to read and brings an average of 5-10 books with her’ she says, so she is not interrupted. She taught her little sister how to play the piano and how to read/and spell. She was born in NY.
