Hi Olyasha, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’m a model, blogger, entrepreneur, fashion host, fashion editor, and celebrity podcast host. I’ve found my brand NotBasicBlonde in 2017. Since then I’ve partnered with over 100 nationwide brands. I have found NotBasicBlonde Podcast at the end of 2019. It officially bloomed and became popular during a pandemic. Currently, NotBasicBlonde Podcast is available on all the major podcast platforms, with over 3M downloads. NotBasicBlonde Podcast is a celebrity podcast – millennial guide to dating, entrepreneurship, spirituality, astrology, health&wellness.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Starting and monetizing a podcast it been definitely not easy. I have been lucky enough. When I’ve started my podcast, I’ve already had an established brand, but if someone is starting a podcast from scratch, it’s even harder. First of all, I had to get out of my comfort zone because I was interviewing people that I’ve never met before. All of my guests are celebrities, and they are very established public figures, so it was kind of nerve-racking to interview them. Second of all, I’ve had to learn about a totally new industry. I had to learn how to record, edit, and publish an episode, which equipment to use, find guests. Third of all, I had to get very creative and study the biography of every guest, to make a conversation as interesting and engaging as possible.

Olyasha Novozhylova is the founder and creator of Not Basic Blonde, a fashion and lifestyle blog dedicated to inspiring young women to create an extraordinary style. Graduated from Georgia State University with a BBA in Managerial Sciences, Olyasha successfully built a career in IT/Project Management before she became a full-time blogger.
