Today we’d like to introduce you to Raina Ball.

Hi Raina, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My story began almost 6 years ago when I felt led to take a break from getting my bachelor’s degree to attend Cosmetology school. I was not sure of how everything would go, but I put my best foot forward and set out to achieve my goal.

I knew Cosmetology could provide income on a schedule I could control. I looked forward to being able to make money on my own time. I didn’t know it would turn out to be a passion for me! Hair is a way that I can free myself and express my creativity, and also enhances the beauty that my clients already possess.

During my journey, I began to see myself transform. I trusted myself and my skill. I developed confidence. This helped me to be the mother I needed to be for my 2 children. All in my very own salon.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road, I’ve had obstacles I had to overcome including being able to balance my business with home life. Sometimes I still have trouble finding time for myself but I am always flexible when it comes to my clients.

I don’t want to say I specialize in anything but I am best known for my color and loc services. I would say one thing that sets me apart from other stylists is that I am always trying to learn new things and always open for growth when it comes to my business. I am most proud of how much I have grown my brand since stepping out on my own. I strive myself to be as professional and knowledgeable as possible for my clients.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
Instagram definitely, I love watching and learning from other stylist like myself.
