Community Highlights: Meet Kendria Holmes of Rollin’ CLT

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kendria Holmes. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Kendria had the idea back in 2016 to bring something to her city that has never been done before–a skating rink with a twist, the twist being a l. Being a Charlotte native, this was a way to pour back into the community. Fast forward to 2020, Kendria, Brandi and Sh’niqua came together to bring this idea to fruition. An outdoor rink was a pivot move in the midst of the pandemic. 2023 we will be moving into our own indoor rink, but we will continue to service outdoor events. We also offer a mobile service where we will bring the skating rink to you.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Of course, there have been challenges, as challenges are a part of every great journey. A few challenges we have been faced consisted of finding the right space with flat land to host our event. For the most part, we haven’t focused on the challenges we focus on solutions. One of our greatest attributes is being able to solve problems as they come.

Any big plans?
Our future at Rollin’ CLT is very bright! We are going to be expanding to our own inside building in 2023. We are also expanding our mobile service not just in NC and SC but to VA, DC, and LA just to name a few states. Our long term goal is to franchise out to other cities and states, even other countries.
