Today we’d like to introduce you to Tracella Birmingham.

Hi Tracella, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve always been a lover of home goods and home accessories… So about 4 1/2 years ago I decided that I wanted to create my own customized pillow collections because I love pillows especially…..At the time I hardly knew a thing about sewing but I knew it was definitely what I wanted to do…After being stood up a few times by someone who was supposed to sew for me I got fed up and decided I had to do it myself! So a friend initially taught me a few basics about sewing, endless hours of YouTube, and then I decided to take a sewing class or two at JoAnn Fabric….After that, it was on!!! I started making my own pillows! And at that time I didn’t use zippers or pillow inserts…I did everything by hand I sewed them, stuffed them with pillow filler and closed them by hand.. It had become a lot, very overwhelming and expensive that’s when I learned an easier quicker, more cost-effective way of doing things.. Although I don’t sew them anymore I have some ladies that sew for me now, but I know exactly what to look for in the production of the products

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Um, it has absolutely not been a smooth road! Lol…Definitely a lot of trial and error, the battle to stay consistent and to keep going even when things don’t go as planned or a quickly as you want them to… And making everything make sense

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
So I’m CEO and Designer of Peluche Luxe Collections I design luxury pillow covers as well as other home accessories like floor rugs and throw blankets and sometimes drapes…. I think what sets me apart from others is since I started off sewing my own products I learned a lot about what works and what don’t in order to produce the most quality product from fabric, zippers, pillow inserts and the overall structure of the product making it solid and built to last… I’m most proud of having a new location at Westside Market, Booth #323 for Homegoods and booth #417 for Body products where customers are able to come in and see, touch, feel the products as opposed to online shopping…

Any big plans?
Just looking to keep growing, becoming a household name… Getting more traffic and awareness to the online store, launching more products, more designs and venturing into body care and intimate apparel….
