Meet Tamir Cummings

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tamir Cummings.

Hi Tamir, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
First I’m a Model and i Love fashion. Fashion inspired me to become a model. Having a fashion sense helped my career in the best ways possible. My photographer Tiah Smith and I both come up with photoshoot ideas and set designs. I mainly style myself for my photoshoots. Styling is also a venture i enjoy partaking in Shortly after leaving Savannah State University, I knew I wanted to move and start completely over. For me, Atlanta was the best place. I wasn’t too far from my family back in Brunswick, Ga. I’m far enough to focus on my career and goals. Modeling has become my passion. I love to walk on the runway and become “Mir The Model”. As of now, I’m working as an Assistant Manager, Stylist and Visual Merchandiser at Clay Luxury Kids in Perimiter Mall. Working at Clay has taught me a lot about balancing my work life with my modeling career. It hasn’t been easy but I always put God first and let the rest handle its own. So far, I’ve been able to accomplish a lot more than I’ve expected. I have a casting call for Clay Luxury Kids coming up for a major Video and photoshoot I decided I wanted to put together for the company. Giving the younger generation opportunities that I didn’t have to go for at those ages it’s a blessing. To be able to pour my fashion and runway talents into others and leading the younger generation one outfit at a time makes me feel extremely great full for the people in my life today that helped me get to this point in my life where I can give back in my own way.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Has it been easy? Oh my gosh, no it has not been easy but nothing good in life comes easy. I’ve learned that events will happen that are out of my control. Growing and learning from my mistakes teaches me that I have to overcome the life cards that I was given to play with. I’ll never give up chasing my dreams.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
First I’m a model and I love fashion. Clay Luxury Kids is a kids clothing store that has a variety of styles from streetwear to formalwear. It keeps my fashion senses going. Although I’m the assistant manager, I’m also the visual merchandiser, stylist and model runway coach. My biggest accomplishment that I’m proud of is buckling down and applying myself to my modeling and work career and doing what needs to be done. What sets me apart from others is that I’m on 100% of the time. I live life like I’m always on the runway so I’m always ready for the runway. There is a lot more to come but we have to take life one day at a time! I always tell myself I have to do what right not what’s easy. Always do what I’m supposed to even people aren’t watching still continue to have integrity.

How do you define success?
Success to me is knowing that each and every day I am enough. Knowing that I’m accomplishing my goals and completing deadlines. Becoming a better version of myself so that I can continue to believe in myself. Being in a position to be able to give back and pour into others leading the next generation one runway at a time is success to me.
