Meet Storm Ford

Today we’d like to introduce you to Storm Ford.

Hi Storm, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Music has always been an important part of my life but Songwriting didn’t really become a passion until I started high school. As a graduation requirement are released my first EP Highest Mountain and it took me further than I ever expected it to. After that, I realized how powerful it is for me to share my story and maintain integrity in my art. I spent the following years doing local shows in my hometown in Providence, Rhode Island until I was fortunate enough to join an Instagram live where Love Renaissance was hosting a talent show. Since then, they’ve really watered me as a creative and a student in this industry.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
A lot happened really fast. While I’m grateful to have acquired so many opportunities and lessons this past year, It’s been hard finding the time to adapt to my new life goals and what it takes to meet them. With success comes a lot of people telling you how to manage it -I think the hardest thing has been shutting the noise out and staying true to who I am.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am most proud of my latest release In the Moment: A Process- a tape made up of voice memos only. It’s beautifully imperfect and just the beginning of my work to encourage Other artists to care more about what they have to say and less about what others want to hear. I think what sets me apart from others is my dedication to being raw and honest no matter what.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I love How the music industry has been given a choice but to make room for independent artists – I believe we are approaching a time where unsigned musicians will top the charts regularly.
