Rising Stars: Meet Michelle Necole

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Necole.

Hi Michelle, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
It’s something like a leap of the unknown how I started Kurvie Krush. I’ve always been a worker never would have thought I would be where I am at now.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has not been an easy road at all. Even with a blueprint, I doubt it would be easy. Oftentimes people build-up being a business owner as their holy grail type thing but in truth, it’s tough it’s like building a home on water, it’s uneasy uncharted I know and often times rocky.

Being able to trust others with your vision is scary. Being able to maintain a household full-time job and kids it is often met with how much do you want it.

I oftentimes have to push myself even when I’m not myself.

Breaking the overall stigma on the Plus size community is the greatest challenge. Even as the curvy and plus industry grows and thrives, there is still so much backlash from other fashion communities. I’m not sure it’s necessary for plus size to be grouped in with others. It’s understood that we are a completely different subset of fashion but we want to be recognized and respected just as society does all other types of fashion. It is disheartening that no one wants to recognize that beauty isn’t one size and that there are those of us who have more “body” than others and there will always be. We enjoy fashion, beauty and deserve to be given the chance to express that without exclusion or ridicule.

Having a plus-size lingerie line also creating events for the plus-size community to enjoy and create and well as being a promoter for a lounge in Douglasville, GA with an all Curvy staff and Amazing Chef Delroy.

Just continuing to go against the grain.

I’m honestly proud of myself for being true to myself never allowing things that would break a person normally allowing to build me.

Honestly, what sets me apart is something I’m still trying to figure out.

How do you think about happiness?
My children.

Being in foster care as a child, I try daily to give my children what I never had.
