Life & Work with Alexa Arredondo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexa Arredondo.

Hi Alexa, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
A few years ago, I came across a few bloggers on Instagram who had been posting photos of their outfits, promoting products, and just sharing a glimpse into their everyday lives. I didn’t exactly know their purpose, but as I kept seeing more and more influencers pop up on my explore page – I knew it was something I wanted to partake in as well. I started my page in 2018 hoping that I could reach the kind of audiences other influencers were. I slowly began to grow a following and realized the influencer space was filled with supportive women who wanted to lift each other up while doing what they love. Even though I am known as a “micro-influencer”, I’ve become a part of a wholesome online community and have built long-lasting relationships with women who have the same passions as I do.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Successful influencers always say that consistency is the key to growing your following. When I began my page in 2018, I was in college and taking classes full-time. With having this type of schedule, I knew I wasn’t going to be able to commit to my blog 100% – so I was just posting here and there. Fast forward four years later, I now have more time and freedom to post and to really build my page. With social media transitioning to people sharing more realistic content in the influencer space, it’s been an advantage to me as I don’t live in a community with a ton of unique places to take photos. I also work full-time now, so being able to have that leniency is super beneficial as well.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I currently remotely as a Content Partnerships Specialist at a digital marketing agency based out of New York. I work with several top-tier publishers in order to get my clients more media coverage and to help their brands flourish. I’ve been blessed to be able to work at such a great company while being able to grow both professionally and mentally.

I graduated college with my degree in public relations, so I’ve always had a passion for the digital media space. I always found myself writing, creating content, and playing around with digital graphics. I knew I wanted to do something where I could use my passions to help other people reach their full potential. One of the reasons I started my blog was so I could have a creative outlet for myself to express my own interests and also share my own knowledge of digital media.

What matters most to you?
The thing that matters most to me is showing kindness to everyone and anyone no matter their circumstances. On social media, it is evident that you never know what may be going on behind the face of someone who presents themselves as a happy and positive person 24/7. People have began to use social media as a way to mask all of the negativity going on in the world. Whether it be leaving a short comment on a post or sending a quick DM, showing someone you care by offering a kind comment or telling them how much they’re appreciated can quickly turn their day around. This is one of the many reasons I got into blogging because I am virtually surrounded by numerous women who constantly encourage each other.
