Exploring Life & Business with Tiffany Scott of ShopTiffanyLaNay

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Scott.

Hi Tiffany, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I am a native from Rochester, NY… I attended St. John Fisher College as an undergrad, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in 2011. I worked on the medical/surgical unit for one year at Unity Hospital and soon transitioned to the pediatric emergency department. While working full-time at the hospital, I went back to school to become a pediatric nurse practitioner. I attended the University of Rochester for one year and relocated to Atlanta, Georgia in 2014, where I completed my pediatric acute care nurse practitioner program under the graduate nursing program at Emory University. After graduating in 2016, I took a job as a nurse practitioner in the pediatric emergency department of Scottish Rite Hospital. When Covid started in 2020 I became a travel nurse lending a hand at hospitals in Amarillo, Dallas, and Manchester,Texas and now to help my own communities in Atlanta. Along with all of my healthcare accomplishments I am a mother of a daughter with Sickle Cell Disease… My daughter was the main reason I went into healthcare. I wanted to make sure that I understand my daughter’s disease, the process and how I can help her.

I always motivate my daughter by teaching her that she can be anything she puts her mind to. Yes, nursing is my number one passion but she has also accomplished a lot outside of the nursing field. I became a certified lash technician in July of 2020, launching my own boutique called Lashed BeauTee working out of my home for personal clients, I also became a licensed Realtor for the state of Georgia in December 2021 working under my broker with Virtual Reality Properties. It has been a great journey in the past few months as I’m learning the industry and making connections throughout the Atlanta area with different people within the Real Estate Industry. I also recently launched my own clothing boutique in February 2022 called ShopTiffanyLaNay, catering to women around the world to enhance their confidence and beauty all through dressing to impress. I have enjoyed embarking on my new small business journey as I am my own model for my site. I strongly believes that you can accomplish any goal you set for yourself whether it’s nursing, real estate, fashion, beauty or anything else. I have to be very organized and self-motivated to balance all my different careers and business ventures and taking care of my daughter and I stand strong and accept the challenge with my cape on my back and my crown on my head. I am determined to fulfill every wish and dream my heart desires while I am still living. I am a BLACK WOMAN and I WILL BE SUCCESSFUL!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I had to have patience throughout this journey, there has been times when I wanted to quit because I couldn’t see the finish line. There were times where life got in the way of fulfilling my goals but one I never did was give up. There were times when I had to take breaks and focus on just my healthcare position to be able to stay in the hospital while my daughter was going through her sickle cell crisis. With all the many hats I wear my most important job is raising my daughter and making sure her health is always my first priority. Any time her health is not 100% it slows me down but thankfully, it has never stopped me.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
ShopTiffanyLaNay is an online women’s clothing boutique I am a Realtor licensed in the state of Georgia working under the brokerage Virtual Properties Realty.

I am a certified lash esthetician with my own company called Lashed BeauTee.

I am Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and a Travel Registered Nurse.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
In starting out some key things that were important for me is to always ask questions, preferably from someone already doing what you want to do. Make sure you do your research of what needs to be done and what certifications and licenses you need to obtain to run your business. Another key thing I would recommend in starting out is be sure to prepare for the worse because sometimes plans don’t always follow the track you intended so be prepared to correct any errors and continue to push for your goals.
