Life & Work with Michael Butler

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Butler.

Hi Michael, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Born and raised in Stone Mountain, GA. Grew up around a lot of talent. With some who are doing big things today. Left High School to ended up playing for and graduating from Ga Southern Univ. from there, I went on to pursue a career in professional sports. I got as far as I was supposed to make it farther than most at the time… From there, I got a job as a therapist assistant in a nursing home, which was an eye-opener for me, scared me really. I left. Somehow I got a job in radio a major blessing they are good to me still as I continue to grow which led to my first role from Learical Jonez. I’m forever grateful. From that planted seed and working with Iluynya Jones and Lamarc Bishop opened another door. To star in my first movie with other major actors and actress’s. Envision directed by Greg Galloway. And more to come. But this is how we got here today.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Hell no, and I say that come from a place of you have to be strong! But I wouldn’t have it any other way. It’s molding me into a beast. In every way. No matter the ups and downs. The pressure has brought out some amazing gifts that I didn’t know I had. On the flip side, there have been so many blessings. Besides, I’m in it for the long road. There are a lot of struggles, staying consistent, knowing what to invest energy into. Learning the business can be at times .friends, family. But I would say the biggest struggle at times is when I’m asking myself am I crazy for doing this with a smile of course.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Right now, I’m mainly focused on getting better at my craft. Expanding my range as an actor. Increasing my value and venturing into other avenues, of course I would like to link with more creators to create more. In some circles, I’m known for fitness. It’s more of a stress relief for me but in the process, If I can help or motivate people on their fitness journey I do. Right now, I’m most proud of going what’s on my heart no matter what anyone says. What sets me apart from others is my soul. One of one the juice that makes me me.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What I like most is. We are strong; we set the tone in a lot of areas of the game. A lot of trendsetters out here. Hawks Atl United FalconsMusic. We have been blessed that a lot of filming is being done., more opportunities… What I like least is the roads. And not enough trash cans in some areas. Oh yeah traffic.
