Life & Work with Los del Sexto

 

Today we’d like to introduce you to Los del Sexto. Them and their team share their story with us below:

‘Los del Sexto’ was originally founded in Dalton, GA by a trio of young and skilled musicians, Antonio Martinez (19), Aldair Pineda (26) and Alexandro Morquecho (16) in 2021. It all started in the summer of 2016 when Antonio and Aldair first met unexpectedly at their nearby Guitar Center and formed the beginning of their musical history with their band once named “Sexto Elemento”.

As the years passed by they decided to re-brand and change their name to “Los del Sexto” with their current member Alexandro. They have performed in public stages throughout Georgia and many private events in the surrounding states as well as weddings, birthday parties and many more traditional celebrations. They have gained the support of their hometown due to their style of Regional Mexican music that’s popular within the Hispanic community.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road for us due to changes with members of the band and being in a conservative region of Georgia. Although we’ve had our struggles, we have gained a new audience that enjoys our new style of music. Our struggle was also engaging with the public in the beginning but we’re grateful for social media networks for bringing us closer to our local fan base as well as our listeners throughout the country.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
We would like to thank everyone that has came out to our shows and to all the people streaming our music. When Sexto Elemento started in 2016 Aldair and Antonio found their first member “Paco” through a friend named “Alex“. He helped get us together in the beginning and without him, things would’ve turned out differently but we’re grateful that it turned out how it did. We also want to thank ‘Noe’ for the good times and his contribution to Sexto.
