Meet Alan Upshur

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alan Upshur.

Hi Alan, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I have been licensed as a real estate agent for going over six years. I closed transactions in multiple states from California as far down as West Virginia. A five star Zillow performer who has been award-winning from the start. From Keller Williams Rookie of the year in 2016 to Baltimore Rising Star.

I have crossed over as a mortgage lender with going on two years of experience to understand both sides of the transaction which gives me a leg up on the competition. I hustle hard like a Realtor so I understand the everyday struggles that they go through and constantly seek for solutions and practice preventative measures. As a mortgage lender, I learned over the years the importance of communication and FOLLOWING UP. I pride myself in being a team player and putting my clients first! Let’s get the win together!

Currently, I now reside in Atlanta, Georgia and have joined Norman & Associates. The largest black-owned luxury Real estate firm in the Southern U.S. I am on the commercial division. In addition, I received my title insurance producer license so now I have three. Real estate license. Mortgage license and Title license. I want to establish myself as one of the premiere real estate players in the world when it’s all said in done.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all! Every license I have tried to obtain has been a mission mainly due to me having a criminal background. Once you say yes on an application, it’s hell from there. You have to obtain every criminal document for each case and provide multiple character references. It constantly reminds me of my past and is always a humble reminder. Learning different aspects of the business with each new license as well comes with its own test in a fast-paced environment.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I am a real estate professional. I am licensed as a REALTOR, Mortgage lender and a Title Insurance Producer. I won multiple awards my favorite being Rookie of the Year my first year in the business. The importance of this award is that you only get one chance at it!!! Another award that I take pride in is my Baltimore Wall Street realtor of the year. I loved that my city recognized me for my work in the community. I want the readers to know that I provide services in these three areas and am also willing to provide value from the beginning.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
Mentors that deserve credit first and foremost are my parents, Alan Upshur and Desiree Perry for raising and building a strong foundation. That made sure education was always an important factor in my life if I’m going to achieve any success. My mentor Sean Wilson R.I.P. also played a strong role in my real estate career but pushing me past my comfort zone and always setting higher goals. Other key mentors have been Darryl Cooper, Jason Sklar, Nakia Evans, Malcolm Crane, Brandon Martinez and Rodney Upshur who I reach out to daily for gems and knowledge not just in my field of work but in life and general. Zakirah Archable my lady who comforts me during the times people don’t see when I’m faced with obstacles or just to remind me the beauties of life and to love myself and others.
