Daily Inspiration: Meet Ernest Carter

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ernest Carter.

Hi Ernest, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Lit Visionz started in 2019 after having a conversation with Terrance Wolfgang Baldwin. I always wanted to do lights I just didn’t know how to start. Mr. Baldwin showed me that you can do anything that you put your mind to. So I did it. I had two bar lights and four wash light cans and Mr. Baldwin dug up a lighting truss and a few lights that he had and storage and I went to work. I was lighting up concerts, weddings, and parties in and out the city. In 2020 the pandemic hit and I knew that I had to be creative in order to sustain my income. I had an empty room in my apartment where I practiced my light set up and I decided to turn it into a creative space for music artists to come and continue to share their art with the world virtually. I named the room “THE VISIONARYROOM”. I’ve seen so many artists come through The VisionaryRoom, National recording artists and local artists. We even produced shows like “Freestyle Friday (KenyaFeelMeTv), TBM Wednesday Night Live(Terrence Wolfgang Baldwin) and many more. This led me into production. I wanted you to be able to come in and all you have to do is create. We took care of the set design, lights, sound, and video.

Most churches were shutting down due to the pandemic as well and I had the pleasure of enhancing the live stream visuals for a few churches here in the city by adding lights and smoke. Hutchinson Missionary Baptist Church (Courtney Meadows) was the first church to trust me with lighting and I’m still there.

Now Lit Visionz is everywhere no matter the setting, we can go anywhere from clubs to churches to the communities and still impact the world by shining the light on others. I want to give a special shout out to my family; they have been super supportive… My two daughters Kirah and Charity they are the reason I get up and go hard everyday… Tonda West for being my spiritual mother and helping getting this business going, I also wanna shout out all my client’s thanks for choosing Lit Visionz… Last but not least GOD, the Bible says “write your VISION and make it LIT” or something like that. Lol.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
If it was easy everyone would do it! Yes, I’ve had obstacles to go through and I know that they will never stop, it’s a part of life. But I serve a God with no limits of what he can do. If I can’t handle it, he can.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
LitVisionz is a Production Company that provides lights, Sound, Videos, set design, and entertainment.

We specialize in lighting.

I am most proud of the videos that we produce.

What sets LitVisionz apart from other companies Is that experience that you encounter from the time we walk in the door until the time we leave. I found out that LitVisionz is a company that everyone wants a part of their event. We care about our clients and their desires and it is our duty to make your vision lit. What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
Unfortunately I am located in Montgomery, Alabama in hopes to branch out to Atlanta soon. But what I like about my city is that there are so many creatives in our city and I enter act with them on a daily basis. I don’t dislike anything about my city but I do hope that we come together as a whole two make our city even better.
