Hi Quay, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Quay, I am the creator and owner Of Yurganic Luxurious Lip Care. I’m from Brooklyn NY , A mommy to identical twins and I moved to Atlanta in 2017 . I hold a degree In legal studies , In college i had dreams of becoming a Parole officer but quickly turned an eye to relocating and entrepreneurship after graduating . That being not only because who doesn’t want to work for themselves but I’ve always said when I became a mom I wanted to be able to dedicate myself to motherhood  100%, how people can be on call for work i wanted to be able to allow myself to be on call for my children by any means .  I think that comes a lot from not being raised by my mother , not to get it confused though i absolutely adore my mother and we’re thick as thieves , but sometimes LIFE might throw some sour as* lemons .Im very much the Millennial  Mary from 227 . It’s really true what they say stay at home moms job is equivalent to a full time job . Lucky for me being financially responsible in my adult years leading up to motherhood  and also having a partner who pours theirselves into me ,and my children I’m able to live the life In the manner that i dreamed of as a young girl  . I moved to Atl to pursue acting and modeling ,since moving here I’ve done a lot of promo and commercial work , I’ve also worked with artist like 21 savage , Lil Boosie , 2chainz , YFN Lucci and Gucci Mane to name a few . I  casted for a couple movie roles , though i didn’t get the parts that doesn’t mean it is not in my future , I just have to wait until my stars align .

When I am not tied up with casted work or my daughters I’m pouring myself into Digital Content of lifestyle and visual storytelling dedicated to my SAHM lifestyle #SahmMomsBeLike  that’s peaks  the  interests  of viewers all over the world . On my URL’s you find tasty Food Recipes , at home DIY hacks , I’ll even test out different home gadgets and give my honest rate and opinion along with where you can find it  . And of course you can’t be a SAHM without the main piece children , my audience enjoy watching me prank , annoy , but most of all nurture and love on  my girls whose birthday is actually Mother’s Day . There’s also a segment on my URL link pages called “Car Rap Trap” where i take on different instrumental challenges lyrically. I’ve been writing literally since I was a young girl. I’ve always found a lot of comfort in creative writing and reading. I never wanted to really be outside growing up , I always wanted to be in the house reading and writing , I wrote two books when I was like thirteen .

I’ll never forget my grandmother took me to a book fair/signing and there I met Deborah Gregory and Ruby Dee and I was just so intrigued by them , I finished Deborah Gregory whole paperback collection of cheetah girls  in a week. After that I wrote a book .I so wish I could find that today . Then there is my prized possession Yurganic . In 2020 I started  Yurganic , A unisex luxurious lip care line made “Organically For You”.  And literally the journey has been nothing short of amazing , and I’m not even pertaining to just sales . Its learning new information in All aspects from  cosmetics to all natural skincare , I’m finding new groups everyday on  being a woman in small black business  , I’m Meeting new people , all awhile making new sales , it’s all a journey and I’m riding the wave .

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?When it comes to modeling , I wouldn’t say tough but a key note would have to be staying  true to yourself and knowing  what is and is not for you . Setting boundaries and keeping them and never letting a dollar  amount be placed on your dignity . There are so many castings I said No too, It just wasn’t for me and also  I do have two daughters watching , so anything and everything  I do has to be tasteful  and not tasteless . I’m not Searching for substance in a world of instant gratification, I am patient and what is for me is exactly that and what is Not just ain’t . We are in a world where social media kinda killed reality just remember , You don’t need 160k followers , you don’t have to be signed to a label , you don’t have to be a YouTube sensation or a Social media influencer, just BE YOU while enjoying DOING YOU. With Yurganics , i wouldn’t say tough , because this thick skin I got from Brooklyn help me handle obstacles lol  ,  so it hasn’t been the toughest road although there has been some hiccups. With Covid happening, many times my inventory has been stuck overseas , delaying launches of collections and sales . There was one time I had all my exfoliate jars but not any glaze jars , something little like that can stop a whole process , reason being because Yurganic has some collections that only sells in sets . But I must say the outpouring amount of support Yurganic has received from launching to now makes my heart smile . I can get one sale a day , but i promise you every time I do have a order to process I do my little dance . I’m grateful  It has not been the toughest road although there has been some hiccups. A little advice i would have for someone ready to take the leap and start that business they’ve been wanting to start is simply Be patient , bounce off of different ideas that are aesthetically pleasing to your brand . Weigh your options in every aspect from branding to building , seek what option best fits. Sometimes it’s not always good to go with your first choice because the second choice might be even better and you sell your self short . DONT COMPARE and contrast  your brands success with others Like they say “Rome wasn’t built in a day “ be patient with yourself . Many of us also seem to get lost In the world of social media , just remember the amount of Followers you have can mean absolutely nothing.  Dont compare your journey to someone else because in todays society we are able to weed through and personally pick and post curated unrealistic versions  of whatever we want , many times just show the finish product and not what it took to get there. I remember seeing somewhere about a girl who had 1000 followers but hit 100,000 sales that year .  Just keep some Faith the size of a mustard seed .

Something Surprising one may not know about me is, ok, I internally feel like I am an astrologist and can be like a spiritual coach of some sort. More times than none many usually neglect our soul but that’s what will follow us to the afterlife. You have to Care for your body keep it Healthy, enjoy your possessions and the joy and comfort they provide, you should Cherish your friends and family For the love that they provide, But don’t forget to take care of your soul, Nourish your soul, Take time to be alone, take time to pray and meditate, Because it is the source of all of your life and your most faithful friend! And the only one thing with you on earth that will follow you into the afterlife. So Yes, something surprising to wrap it all up in one would be I have Mystic vibes, I haven’t said it out loud or even begin to completely become in tune with it but I do believe when I decide to accept it fully then I can dive in head first, not a conjure or anything people sometimes intertwine the two, but No absolutely not I don’t play with spirits.

Over the years I’ve come to the realization that I do have a third eye however opening your third eye is a practice you should devote time to daily and right now I am not doing so because I am just not ready. People have told me I should start doing tarot card readings, honestly I Just feel on another level. I see a lot of what I dream about, and sometimes more than a little bit I can have a whole situation in a dream and wake up to exactly that being presented to me, or find myself in a moment like wow this all seem very de Ja Vu then remember I actually was in that moment in a dream. For example, one that sticks with me is I have a cousin that went Missing in 2017, we never received any real solid answers, however I have had the same dream repetitively till this day, and that’s where my closure has come from, my dreams have given me my answers like I said I just Feel on another level. So many times, I dream of things before it happens or while it’s happening, and it plays out almost identically and it scares me some time and triggers my anxiety, depending on the dream and situation it can throw my whole balance off.
